**JOB SUMMARY**

The purpose of the Customer Data Strategy \(CDS\)team is to support the enterprise data strategy and be the bridge between ITand the business, building the data and platforms to support reporting,analytics, CRM, and personalized marketing\. The CDS team is responsible for integrating customer data, includingprofile, transactions, interactions, third party, survey, and analyticallyderived data into a robust customer profile that will support our CRMefforts\. The Senior Manager will be akeep player in defining this customer profile and determining how to integratecustomer data to support strategic programs\. He or she will also lead the analytics supporting our personalizedmarketing programs, managing and contributing to the process to used advancedanalytics to predict customer behavior and target marketing communications andcustomer treatments across channels\. Thesenior manager will become an expert in existing data sources and will takepart in the development of new data about our customers\. Finally, the senior manager will leadprojects to develop analytically derived models of customer behavior and deploythem in production systems to contribute to the customer profile, managingexternal consultants and collaborating with different departments at Marriott\.

**CANDIDATE PROFILE**

**Education**

+ Bachelors Degree in Statistics, Mathematics,Computer Science, or other quantitative disciplines or equivalent work experience\.
+ Masters Degree in Business, Statistics, AdvancedAnalytics/Data Science, Mathematics, Psychology, Computer Science,Finance/Economics or related field preferred\.
+ At least five years of relevant experience\.
+ Formal or informal training in data science or predictivemodeling

**TechnicalExpertise**

+ Proficiency with advanced SQL querying isessential\.
+ Experience working with and/or designing enterprisedatabases and complex data models is essential
+ Experience responding to client requests andformulating response using both business and technical knowledge is essential\.
+ Proficiency in additional data/analyticsprogramming languages such as SAS, R, or Python is essential\.
+ Experience working with statistical analysis anddata mining techniques is desirable\.
+ Experience analyzing customer interactionsincluding web clickstream data and voice channel data is desirable\.
+ Experience with open source tools for dataanalytics and big data processing \(R, Spark, Hadoop etc\.\) is desirable\.
+ Knowledge of digital marketing recommender systems\(e\.g\., collaborative filtering\), optimization platforms \(e\.g\., SAS MarketingOptimization\), and the digital marketing environment is highly desirable\.
+ A broad understanding of the technologies andmethodologies used for advanced analytics and data science and data engineeringis essential\.

99. **Development and Integration of Customer Data intoCustomer Profile**

+ Develop deep knowledge of customer and transactionaldata to answer business questions, support major initiatives, and measure KPIsto drive business results\.
+ Work with CRM and Loyalty teams to identify newdata sources and integrate data from existing platforms that will have value indriving omni\-channel CRM strategy\.
+ Identify opportunities to integrate data frommultiple sources, including transactional systems, to deepen understanding ofcustomer behavior\.
+ Develop and document analytic datasets in ourHadoop environment that will enable customer analytics and reporting teams tomore easily access complicated customer data\.
+ Support documentation of data sources and trainingof analysts in order to enhance the capabilities of Marriott s customeranalytics\.

99. **Support Analytics\-Driven Personalized MarketingPrograms**

+ Support the deployment of predictive models ofcustomer value, stay behavior, and responsiveness to promotions tailored tospecific marketing needs using analytical tools including open source tools asdetermined by team priorities\.
+ Work with team members, external consultants, InformationTechnology, and business partners to automate the execution of analyticalmodels and delivery of analytic products to customer touch points in order toimprove the customer experience and create long\-term value\.
+ Develop processes to measure the effectiveness ofregular models in order to identify when models need to be updated, improved,or replaced\.
+ Leverage the implementation of new tools bydesigning processes to support the optimization of customer communicationsacross multiple channels, incorporating existing models and identifying newmodels needed\.
