This professional communicator creates and strengthens the position of the properties in its market, extends customers, strategic partners and media base, provide communications management expertise during crisis situations, maximizes the property’s promotional budget, liaises with the community, generate ongoing publicity about the hotel’s services and staff, and provides general communication assistance with the development and preparation of strategic marketing and PR plans, speeches and property collateral. Works with and manages any PR Agency employed to support the Communication process. Develops and implements effective internal communication processes to ensure that all Associate are informed about the hotel strategies, challenges and successes.

*Essential Functions*

*Public Relations Focus (in detail):*

· Assist and execute the annual PR plan to complement the overall departments Marketing Communications plan.

· Position the hotels in the market as a group as well as individually according to the property’s positioning and key messages.

· Establish/continue to build image and reputation of the hotel and Brand in local, national and international markets.

· Create and revamp property press kits, press releases and creative communication of news worthy items.

· Set up and prepare for interviews with key media for news worthy interviews with the GM, Chefs and key hotel contacts.

· Create and support promotional opportunities and pitched target media, create press releases and media alerts accordingly.

· Publicize special events promotions.

· Coordinate community relations efforts (through on-property assistant managers).

· Proactive media relations to include calls to major markets and press trips.

· Responsible for hotel award submission and chef profiling, based on business requirements and focus.

· Cooperate with local tourism authorities to conduct and execute Media FAMs and secure coverage in relevant target media.

*Marketing Communications Focus (in detail):*

· Complete execution of food and beverage (F&B) campaigns utilizing and maximizing on property’s communication channels

· Work with the F&B team and contribute to the greater understanding of who is the customer and their needs then support on the development of the F&B communication campaigns to drive results.

· Accountable to maintain and update hotel’s Media portal via content management database.

· Execute the bi-monthly newsletter of the property and continuously looking at re-energizing the look and feel within guidelines.

· Track and measure PR and Marketing campaigns for evaluation.

· Oversee writing and creative of collateral for F&B, in-room collateral, brochures, newsletters, promotions and all in-house communication channels.

· Responsible to ensure brand guideline integrity and review/edit all written material prepared by on-property managers.

*Additional responsibilities to support Department Director:*

· Contribute to advertising plan, media buying, copy, photography, layout and creative to ensure a consistent message.

· Involvement with Marketing Manager in designing and implementing direct mail campaigns, holiday promotions and follow through of Category ‘A’ promotions.

· Analyze competition activity, the economic and political environment and adapt the actions consequently to the overall plan.

· To help develop the PR & Marketing Communications Executive to further develop his/her skills by supporting and taking ownership of tasks delegated by the department manager.

· Create an Internal communications plan

· Develop Associates in the field of Public Relations to ensure strong talent development
