Stunning Wedding Photography at Danesfield House

The couple’s story… their Danesfield House Wedding…

Russ and Sarah, a perfect wedding at the stunning Danesfield House with loads of fun, laughter and reflected the character of this lovely young couple…

I had met Russ and Sarah before their big day and was really looking forward to photographing their wedding. They were such a happy and fun couple, I just knew they were going to have a very special day.

Sarah was definitely a bride that had been dreaming about her day and knew exactly how she wanted it to go. She had done her research and explained to me about some ’quirky’ and unique shots they wanted to get during the day, but apart from those and a few groups and bride and groom photographs, Sarah and Russ had chosen my because the wanted their day recorded with observational documentary photography, recording the story of their, with all its emotions and special moments, as they happened, naturally. Timeless images that would give them a lifetime of memories.

Russ and Sarah told me that they met thirteen years ago and he had surprised her with a proposal in Florida as they swam with the dolphins. If you ever meet Sarah and Russ you definitely need to get them to tell you the story, its touching, romantic, funny and I could not begin to do it justice by retelling it here to you, so trust me this was a wonderful proposal.

Danesfield House Wedding – Berkshire Wedding Venue

Sarah got ready in one of the hotel’s luxurious rooms accompanied by her three bridesmaids. The girls lay on the bed in their matching dressing gowns, hair and makeup done, feet crossed behind them, face in hands for one of Sarah’s special pictures. Each bridesmaid had their dress hung from a personalised hanger, elegant long pale blue dresses with seed pearl embellished tops.

Sarah had her makeup styled from Danesfield House’s own Spa Illuminata, Lucy, and her hair by Claire was styles to fall in long loose curls around her shoulders and finished to the side with a crystal ad pearl clip. I got some lovely natural poses of Sarah as she got ready and some of my favourite were using the mirror to reflect her image in the photograph, and standing simply leaning against the door. Sarah wore a stunning figure enhancing San Partrick white wedding dress, covered in seed pearls ad crystals lace design, with a fitted bodice, complete with a crystal ribbon belt. Sarah wore a pair of peep-toe shoes that looked silver/gold depending on how the light hit them.

Russ was the perfect groom and sent Sarah a hamper of ‘goodies’ including a special message and some of Sarah’s favourite treats, a pair of beautiful earring for Sarah to wear, and I spotted a kinder egg! everyone was eager to see what he had sent her.

Danesfield is a stunning wedding venue in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, and has most recently become famous for the wedding celebrations of a Mr George Clooney, an American actor, you may have heard of him, but has many years of experience at providing personal and bespoke wedding services with its impeccable service and gorgeous location. Sarah wanted to make sure that some of her bridal images captured the beautiful interior and exterior. As she made her way to meet Russ for the ceremony we took some beautiful pictures of Sarah on the grand staircase.

Sarah and Russ got married in the gorgeous Versailles Suite, taking influence from its stunning French palace namesake, this room has high ceilings and chandeliers, its colour pallet is soft pastel shades, and natural light is reflected from the large windows onto the long wall mirrors. A fairy tale venue that was picture perfect for Sarah as a princess bride.

Russ looked every part the handsome prince to Sarah’s princess, in a black suite, bow tie and white rose buttonhole, as he waited looking down the aisle for Sarah to arrive.

The flowers were arranged and supplied by Sue Barton, including stunning tall table decorations in silver vases with white candles, single lilies for the bridesmaids. The bridal bouquets was filled with white roses and lilies and highlighted by blue buds to bring a flash of colour. The aisle was scattered with white rose petals. At each side of the start to the wedding aisle a beautiful white floral arrangement helped set the scene with white dressed chairs.

Now I’ve mentioned that Sarah and Russ are definitely a couple with a sense of fun, and this was absolutely the case with the white wedding bouncy castle they hired. They have some truly memorable pictures of Sarah, in her wedding dress, bouncing up and down! I managed to capture one bounce mid-air and another of Sarah being helped up with her feet visible from layers of petticoat.

The couple sat at an oblong table whilst their guests surrounded them on round tables. Butterflies balanced on wine glasses as the guest place names. They enjoyed a sumptuous three course lamb meal.

The wedding party were entertained by up close card tricks by magician Sean Heydon, which left everyone rubbing their eyes and scratching their heads wondering ‘how did he do that?’ and was perfect for some interesting shots, including a shot of a card trick performed I front of the bride and groom, and the levitation of a guest!

There was time for a few more special photos including the bride balanced on a window sill surrounded by her girls, yes she really did get up there for the photo, and then upstairs on the balcony by the snooker table with the groom and boys. I really hope Sarah and Russ and going to love these quirky shots that capture the fun couple that they are alongside the people that mean most to them.

We also went outside for some stunning and dramatic portraits at dusk with Danesfield House providing the perfect backdrop, with it white building and the twinkling lit tree lined approach.

Everyone danced the night away to a disco and Sarah and Russ ensured they celebrated their marriage with love, laughter and many, many smiles.

Sarah and Russ are planning a honeymoon in New York at a later date, but for now they are flying off for a, as Sarah told me, ‘mini-moon’, to Spain – don’t you love this couple!

Apart from my photography, the day was recorded on video by a family friend, so that to Will Rudman.

I can honestly say that this was a really happy occasional and so enjoyable to photograph, thank you Russ and Sarah and I hope your marriage continues to be full of fun, with you two, I’m sure it will be, congratulations and best wishes.
