BBC Two series Peaky Blinders is filming in Falkner Square, off Canning Street, today and tomorrow.
There is expected to be a controlled explosion in the park as the dramatic scenes are filmed.
This afternoon passers-by spotted characters in period dress and a vintage car at the city park as scenes for the series were filmed.
The programme is set in 1920s Birmingham but producers have chosen locations across Liverpool to film.
