If you’ve ever been on a video production shoot, you know that one day’s worth of footage doesn’t magically turn into a beautiful masterpiece. To produce any video takes time, including editing a lot of raw files. And when it comes to being proficient in the latest video editing software and knowing video best practices, Matt Coombs, MIC’s newest Video Editor, possesses all of those skill sets and more.

Matt is a Florida native that spent a large portion of his childhood traveling across the U.S. with his mom. They later settled in Florida in early 2000 and then he earned his degree in Television broadcasting from PTEC. Since graduating from PTEC in 2006, he worked for nearly every large broadcast company and hundreds of small production companies. At one point, he even owned a production company. When he wasn’t doing production work, he played drums with some well-known musicians. His passion has always been entertainment, which led him back to working on production behind the scenes.
“I instantly liked Matt. And more importantly, he understands that his main job here is to be his best self, which he proves daily in the work he produces.” Dave Dietz, Producer
As a Video Editor, Matt will be working closely with the production team. He will be responsible for editing raw video into comprehensive and aesthetically pleasing videos that portray both MIC and its clients’ branded video communications.
“I’ve worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, like the NFL and NASCAR,” Coombs stated, “and I have never been to a place that, the second I walked in the door, I felt like I was a part of a family. And the level of talent in this building is second to none. I absolutely love working here.”
When Matt isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his fiancee, Kimmie. He admits most of his free time is consumed by his newborn daughter, Taylor, and oldest daughter, Kailey. With the small free time Matt and Kimmie manage to find, they enjoy playing video games or having a date night at a concert. He would love to fly a helicopter, but for the time being, a flying drone that he’s been eyeing might be the next best thing.
Join us in welcoming Matt to the MIC family.
