My Thoughts:
“The point is to allow Him to be in control and not try to take His rightful place of leadership.”
I found myself nodding in agreement at this quote as well as many others as I read through Questions God Asks. I was constantly thinking and pondering on the topics/questions being presented. The manner in which the information was presented in this book was quite interesting and held my attention.
There was more than one occasion where the topic hit me hard as the Lord used it to convict me (in a good way) or reaffirm something that I had already been thinking or studying. Because I read this book over a couple of weeks, I was able to really soak in the various topics/questions and use it as a devotional rather than just read it as a regular book.
Questions God Asks could easily be used as a family devotional, if desired.
In Questions God Asks, Israel presents each chapter as a question that was asked by God to someone in the Bible. We see men like Adam, Cain, Moses, job, Joshua, Elijah, and many others as they are faced with tough questions from the Lord. The often rhetorical questions make these men of the Bible think about the points the Lord wanted to convey to them. We can now use these questions to help us better understand the Lord and the situations we are presented with throughout our lives.
