Position Title: Support Center Technician Organizational Unit: Technical Services Position Summary: This position will be responsible for assisting and supporting internal and external customers with installation, programming, and troubleshooting of products and services offered by Emerson Climate Technologies. Some fieldwork will be required with the possibility of overnight travel, as well as rotational on-call responsibilities. Duties and Responsibilities: *Answer telephone inquiries concerning company products and designated third party products in a professional and courteous manner. *Update call-tracking system in place, with required information. *Maintain proficiency in all products and services that company offers. This includes installation, programming, and equipment protocol. *Maintain proficiency in all designated third party products and services. *Provide on site start up, punch-down, commissioning, training, or service as directed by the Supervisor. *Complete necessary paperwork as directed by the Supervisor. *Provide after hours technical service, nights, weekends, and holidays through a rotating on-call basis as directed by the Supervisor. *Interact with customers, resolve customer service problems and defuse sensitive issues with diplomacy and tact in a timely manner. *Suggest improvements and ideas for Technical Support Center. *Project image of quality service to customers. *Assist others, communicate, and participate as part of a team. *Maintain professional appearance, attitude, and behavior at all times. *Perform related duties as assigned by the Supervisor. Skills and Educational Requirements: *Associate's (AA) degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school along with five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. *Knowledge of HVAC controllers a must *Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, database, Internet software, E-mail, Windows XP, Windows 7 *Certified in the use and handling of refrigerants. Working Conditions: *While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. *10% Overnight travel is required.
