Manpower has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Site Quality Assurance Chemist with one of our growing Chemical Company's here in North Louisiana. This is a Permanent Position with a GREAT Company! The role is integral to continuous improvement of the QC laboratory processes and capabilities, with a high expectation of initiative, planning skills and flexibility.

Job Overview

The Site Quality Assurance Chemist position is designed to provide support to operations, and site logistics, primarily through the science of analytical chemistry. While the primary responsibilities of this job will be to support the operations and site logistics, research & development interactions and support may be necessary. The candidate will provide support to the QC Lab Technicians and the Site Analytical Specialist.

In addition, the successful candidate will be proficient with computer applications including Excel, Word, and Microsoft Windows, familiar with computers use including chromatography data systems (e.g. Atlas) and Lab Information Management Systems (LIMS). Experience and knowledge in the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of stand-alone analyzers, high performance liquid chromatographs(HPLC), inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), and gas chromatographs (GC) including detectors (e.g. FID, TCD) and sample delivery systems (e.g. manual, automated, liquid valve, and gas valve) is required. Experience with infrared spectroscopy and auto-titration systems is preferred. The successful candidate must also be able to perform and understand wet chemistry methods. Awareness of chemical and other hazards inherent to a manufacturing laboratory is a must, to include safe handling of all types of samples (recognize chemical hazard, i.e. concentrated acids, toxic samples).

Good mechanical skill, lab technique, methodical record keeping, and the ability to work in a professional manner, whether independently or with co-workers are required. The successful candidate must be able to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure. This job requires the ability and willingness to train other lab members on lab techniques and processes. The individual must have well-developed ability to use basic statistics in interpreting and reporting data sets and be comfortable approving raw materials and products. Excellent human relations, organizational and communication skills are required to communicate with partners and outside customers.

Experience in product release process including Quality Systems software is preferred.

Education/Certification Requirements/Perferences:

* B.S. in analytical chemistry or related field.

* Previous experience with Gas Chromatography (GC) is a must for this job.

* Previous experience with High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) is a must for this job.

* At least 3 years related work experience is required

* Experience with compliance methodology, quality, and analytical work processes is desired.

* Six Sigma experience would be an asset.

* A minimum requirement for this U.S. - based position is the ability to work legally in the United States on a permanent basis (U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident or qualifying Asylee / Refugee).
