This position is responsible for the valuation of residential properties in accordance with USPAP, STARS policies, Agency guidelines, and regulatory requirements within the appraiser's area of geographical competence. The position is focused on the completion of quality appraisal products in a minimally supervised environment.
Job Duties
*Inspecting properties and completion of residential appraisals on FNMA forms
*Assist management with inquiries that require the appraiser's market expertise.
*Attending training and other related required events
Experience
*Specialized experience in residential real estate appraisal including 2-4 units, Condo and CoOps.
*Experience utilizing different tools and models to analyze, report and communicate results.
*Experience working in a production environment
*Independence: This position will require independent decisions in the preparation of appraisal reports.
*Ability to work from home office.
*This position requires the ability to perform all aspects of residential real estate property inspections which include but are not limited to the following physical demands & work environment: Property inspections that require work to be performed both indoors and outdoors and may be subject to weather extremes. Candidates must be able to perform functions that include walking (on inclining, declining, and uneven natural or paved terrain as well as the ability to walk up and down stairways), standing for long periods of time, sitting, bending, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and carrying of items necessary to complete an inspection.
*Reliable transportation to get to and from inspections.

Education
*High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred
*Certified General or Certified Residential Appraisal license for a minimum of three (3) years
*Approved for FHA assignments
Knowledge and Skills
*At least 3 years as a State Certified Appraiser.
*Thorough knowledge of FIRREA, USPAP and Agency guidelines.
*Strong analytical ability to review quantitative and qualitative data and render professional judgments as relates to appraisal theory and practice.
*Effective written and verbal communications, with experience communicating at all levels within an organization.
*Proven ability to utilize time management and organizational techniques to manage changing priorities and conflicting work deadline requirements.
*Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record with no restrictions.
*Proficient with ACI and Microsoft (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
