We are searching for Fabrication Setup Operators!

SUMMARY: The Can Fabrication Setup Operator plans, sets up, fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs sheet metal parts, equipment, and products. This position is responsible for set up and operation of fabrication machines as well as installing and inspecting assemblies and ensuring conformance to specifications. Must have ability to set up and operate CNC brake press and CNC punch presses to assemble sheet metal products efficiently. Experience with Amada equipment desirable.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.

* Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products.

* Sets up and operates fabricating machines such as turrets, shears, brakes, presses, and laser to cut, bend and form, or straighten materials.

* Organizes and monitors production flow process to ensure that production meets schedules.

* Trims, files, grinds, deburrs, buffs, and smooths surfaces and drill and punch holes, installs screws, bolts, and rivets in detailed parts and assemblies.

* Set-up and Operate PEMserter and install PEMS, rivets, screws, and component parts to sub-assemblies and major assemblies.

* Installs assemblies in supportive framework according to blueprints.

* Inspects assemblies and installation for conformance to specifications per quality standards. Repairs and maintains sheet metal products.

* Verifies completion of work by signing off on work documentation.

* Periodically assists in other production areas at the discretion of the Unit Manager or Supervisor when needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED), AND

* 3 to 5 years on the job experience in sheet metal fabrication, OR

* Equivalent combination of education and experience

* Ability to set up and operate CNC brake and CNC punch presses.

Certificates and Licenses: None required.

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); Web proficiency.

* Manual dexterity.

* Ability to understand and complete work documentation;

* Ability to interpret documents such as procedure manuals, work instructions, software manuals and ability to write routine reports and correspondence;

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

* Ability to multi task.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Knowledge with manufacturing techniques, operating techniques, inspection techniques, quality control plans, forms, work documentation and equipment necessary to perform job.
