As the 3rd Shift Production Lead, you will assist Supervisor in the day-to-day direction of production activities, ensure correct quantity and quality of products are produced efficiently, and coach/ lead associates to drive attainment of safety, housekeeping, quality, delivery and productivity targets. Work with supervisor to ensure proper manning and material are available to complete production .
Additionally, the Production Lead will:
* Will assist the supervisor with planning, coordinating, and controlling manufacturing processes
* Create and promote a safe, healthy and environmentally friendly atmosphere
* Facilitate the communication of pertinent information to team members, departments, functional areas, and other key stakeholders to encourage open communication and solid teamwork.
* Develop teams within the workforce that empowers each individual and encourage them to learn new skills creating a flexible and multi skilled workforce
* Identify areas of deficiency and implement practices to improve employee safety and to reduce the cost incurred through excessive rework, poor workflow/process design and others.
* Serve as a project team member to reduce rework, increase product quality, decrease operational costs, and increase departmental efficiency/productivity.
* Serve as change agent by driving the required cultural transformation and the adoption of successful process improvement practices. Diagnoses barriers to project success and facilitates resolution.
* Provide assistance with the creation, review and revision of instructions necessary for the manufacture of improved product and processes.
*Identify need for re-training for transfers/promotions.
* Assist with manufacturing investigations and other process equipment related quality concerns.
* Utilize a variety of software systems to support daily work activities.
The Production Lead should possess:
* At least a high school education or equivalent. Prefer AS degree.
* Minimum of 3 years in leadership role/experience with a focus on leading production teams in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
* Ability to leverage strong leadership, communication and presentation skills to effectively collaborate with management and employees
* A strong understanding of and experience with project management
* Proficiency with Microsoft products
* Good communication and problem solving skills
