Blue Earth County adding Active Warrant List to Website

MANKATO, MINN. — The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Department has added a new feature to their website. The general public will now have access to the Active Warrant List for Blue Earth County which will be updated daily.
“We have always had a warrant list but never on the web site.” said Capt. Rich Murry of the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Department.
Captain Murry explains why they are adding the active warrant list to the website.
“We have had a backlog of warrants and have kicked around different ideas on how to widdle down the list. Last year we hired a warrant officer to try and reduce the numbers,” said Captain Murry
Currently there are between 800 to 1,000 active warrants in Blue Earth County according to Captain Murry.
“We have had more luck with the high profile warrants, we just need the publics help with some of the lesser type warrants.” He said
The list will be updated daily.
“We do not want the public to try and take people into custody – we just need to be notified so we can do the heavy lifting.” Captain Murry concluded.
If you have information on the whereabouts of someone on the warrant list you are asked to call either 911 or 507-304-4864.
