THE Manila Times 4th Business Forum marked another important milestone in The Times aim of providing its readers with relevant news and insights.

The Manila Times business forum series always aims to focus public discourse on the important news of the day and today, we turn our collective attention to the competitiveness and security of our banks and the financial system at large,” said The Manila Times’ Executive Editor, President and CEO Dante Francis “Klink” Ang II in his welcome address during the recent forum held at the Manila Ballroom of Marriott Hotel Manila.

To make the forum possible, he explained, “We, at The Times, have spared no effort in lining up experts and resource persons to share insights that may be useful and relevant in formulating strategies and business policies that can help strengthen our financial institutions, which make up the backbone of our economy.”

The six speakers and seven reactors discussed and addressed the issues on how to survive the tide of competition, cyber threats, and money laundering; the impact of integration on Philippine banks, the Asean’s role in Asia and the Philippine’s role in Asean; the opportunities and challenges in the Philippine banking system; technology and fraud in the banking system and better performance and profits from better security.
