We had an amazing show last week when Kim Walls from Episencial talked to us about personal care products and how we can make sure to keep toxins out of our personal care routine! If you missed the show or want to watch it again, you can find the YouTube video and more information about Kim and Episencials on our Toxins in Personal Care post. When we had Cara Bondi from Seventh Generation on the show or our Household Cleaner Detoxification class, she talked about how indoor air quality is so much worse than outdoor air, and this week we are going to further explore that topic. At Mamavation, we have a serious love going on for Naturepedic – they’re one of the sponsors for our Mamavation Bootcamp, but even more than that they are an amazing company in Ohio that makes organic, chemical-free mattress for the whole family and because of their expertise, we were delighted when they suggested an expert for our Indoor Air Quality theme! This week we will be joined by Dr. Arthur Lavin, a nationally renowned pediatrician and neuroscience expert.

Special Guest: Dr. Arthur Lavin, MD, FAAP from Advanced Pediatrics

Dr. Lavin is a married father of 3 who is also a private practice pediatrician in Beachwood, Ohio and an associate clinical professor of pediatrics at Case Medical School in Cleveland, Ohio. He is definitely someone that we want to be teaching the next generation of pediatricians – he both trained and taught at Harvard and MIT and is board-certified in the sub-speciality of newborn medicine. He has served on 3 national committees for the American Academy of Pediatrics, is the State Director of Doctors of America for Ohio, was the first professional in the US to introduce work completed in Sweden’s Karolinska Brain Institute, has been recognized as one of the nation’s top neuroscience experts by SharpBrain, and has been a speaker at both a national and international conference on Autism. But wait, there’s more! Dr. Lavin is also a board member of the St. Luke’s Foundation that disburses around $10 million per year to health related initiatives local to the urban Cleveland community, accepted an invitation from the US government to participate in an overseas health partner mission, and was also a medical officer on a surgical team repairing cleft palates and lips in Columbia, South America. He’s not only an expert – he’s written to book! Dr. Lavin is the leading author of “Baby and Toddler Sleep Solutions for Dummies” and the co-author of “Who’s the Boss: Moving Families from Conflict to Collaboration”. Talk about amazing!

We are delighted and honored to have Dr. Lavin as a guest on Mamavation TV, and we invite you to join us on Monday, August 12, 2013 at 7pm PST/10pm EST to watch the LIVE Mamavation TV show in the YouTube box above where Dr. Lavin will teach us about detoxifying our indoor air and how improved indoor air quality can help our health and the health of our children. If you miss the show, you can watch the YouTube recording above after the broadcast. As part of our healthy detox and weight loss bootcamp, Dr. Lavin is also our expert in a private coaching call for our three Mamavation Moms. Watch for their posts this week as they share what they learned and their reactions to the information they’re learning from our experts! You can also connect and interact with Dr. Lavin and Advanced Pediatrics on the American Pediatrics Twitter account, Dr. Lavin on Google+, and the Advanced Pediatrics page on Facebook.

Mamavation TV Giveaway

This week on Mamavation TV, we will be giving away 4 CritterZone Air Naturalizers to help you at home improve your indoor air quality. Here’s what the company says about the product:

The CritterZone Air Naturalizer is a powerful, compact unit that re-energizes indoor air, giving it the power to clean itself. It’s mimicking what the sun does for outdoor air. It’s a safe and effective way for families to tackle indoor smells from pets, cooking and dirty laundry without the use of harsh chemical sprays or air “fresheners.” It’s also great at removing allergens that trigger coughing and sneezing.

Sounds like a great giveaway for our Detoxifying Indoor Air theme, right? 4 lucky winners will be announced LIVE Mamavation TV (you can also watch the YouTube recording here after the broadcast to see if you’ve won!). And the great news is that the giveaway is super easy to enter using the Rafflecopter form below. You can find out more about CritterZone products on the CritterZone Twitter account, CritterZone Facebook page, CritterZone Pinterest boards, and CritterZone YouTube channel.
