Big thanks to FulcrumGallery.com for the print to help with this review
FulcrumGallery.com is the inevitable outcome of a seemingly coincidental series of events which started in its founders, years before we ever met and started a business. Over time, a friendship, an interest in art and decorating, and a strong software development background led to the FulcrumGallery.com that we have become. FulcrumGallery.com exists today because of the continued investment of its founders and employees. It is very much a work of blood, sweat, and tears...and of course, a love of great art.
I've been a fan of Marilyn Monroe for years now. Ever since I first read about her in a magazine and learned about her life, movie career, and death I have tried to learn as much as I can about this woman. I've been collecting items with her picture on it for about seven years now, and when FulcrumGallery.com contacted me for a review, I was excited to see they carry Marilyn! Isn't she just beautiful in the image above?! Black and white photos can really draw you in depending on the image, and I have several pictures of her in black and white. I think it draws more attention to the focus of the image and it really pops when in the right setting. There's a lot more black and white photography on their website you can check out, but I'll continue with this special piece I received.
Very hard to capture this photo without a glare but I tried!
My upstairs hallway is full of Marilyn pictures. Our girls know who she is and they even spot her photos from time to time at stores. I was excited to review this picture because I already have some of the other images on their site, but this image is one I first saw about eight years ago, and I've been on the look out for it ever since.
You can purchase prints several different ways, and the above image is actually how my photo looks unframed. It's a 24x36 print and when purchased as the photo only, it's a great retail price of $6.49. I decided to customize my image and have it framed to look nicer and be ready to get hung once it arrived. When you purchase in a frame it shrinks the photo to 24x30 in size, and then you choose between several different frame choices. Since I've always been a fan of black frames, that's the shade I chose and it also happens to be the cheapest option. You also choose between glass and plexi-glass and then you're on your way.
Shipping was pretty fast and it was packaged tightly and secure. All of their products, including custom framed art, have a 30 day, no questions asked, return policy. If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, you may return it within 30 days of receipt for a full refund or replacement, less shipping charges.
The back of the photo is tagged with the person that put the art together, and I like this feature. It reminds you someone actually took the time to put your image and choices to life instead of a pre-done random piece you choose off a shelf.
There is so many options to choose from on this website. You can shop by different categories, rooms, subjects and more. Thankfully since they have a search engine, I could easily find my interest first and go from there. My photo in the frame is about $70 and shipping took about 1 1/2-2 weeks from the time the order was placed to when it arrived.
I'm very happy with my new art of Marilyn and it's one of my favorite pieces we now own!
