I know, I know, I really should be posting this TOMORROW seeing as how it’s Thursday. But let’s talk about that for a moment… Thursday… if you’re on any form of social media (I even saw a segment about it last week on the Today Show) you are probably familiar with the term “Throwback Thursday” or #tbt if you’re feeling all hash-taggy.
Simply put, Throwback Thursday occurs (appropriately so) every Thursday. That is the day that you will find prom pictures from yesteryear, baby pictures from the 80s and everything else in between flooding your feeds. I have to admit, I do enjoy participating in a good #tbt walk down memory lane. I share everything from just-sorta-throwback, for example this pic went up last week. It is a newborn pic from when Landon was just 6 days old and I posted it because last weekend was his 6 MONTH photo session. Time is flying!
The week before that I shared this gem on my Facebook page. John Stamos aka “Uncle Jess” from Full House. Why doesn’t this man seem to age?
And yes, over the winter, I really dug one out of the Mama Cheaps’ Archives. Me atop a glorious snow mountain!
I admit – I look forward to Thursdays and enjoy getting a glimpse of everyone’s remember-the-time.
In addition to looking at old pictures with Lily, I love sharing the different television shows with her that I remember watching as a kid. Having Streaming Netflix has made that a whole lot easier by offering a TON of vintage television series on TV! I rediscovered The Wonder Years a couple of years ago and binged watched the entire show series – several seasons of Kevin and Winnie – OH YEAH!!
I have also gone on day-long watch-fests of Saved by the Bell, Family Ties and Wings. With Lily, I introduced her to Care Bears and Strawberry Shortcake (long before we ever found them on television).
Here are just some of the classic tv shows that Streaming Netflix has for the younger crowd:
