(The Star) – Pelaburan Mara Berhad (PMB) group chief executive officer Nazim Rahman will lodge a police report against Rafizi Ramli for repeatedly accusing him of involvement in Mara Inc’s controversial purchase of property in Australia.

He will lodge a report at the Dang Wangi police headquarters at 3pm on Saturday against what he claimed were “false and recycled” allegations against him by the PKR vice-president and the National Oversight and Whistleblowers (Now).

Nazim said as an employee of PMB, said he was not involved in any decisions made by Mara Inc, which is a different entity.

“PMB and Mara Inc are different companies with separate management structures and its own board of directors.

“Mara Inc is also not a subsidiary of PMB, and I am unable to influence any decisions made by that company,” he said in a statement.

He said Rafizi’s attempts to depict him as having a vested interest in several companies allegedly used to siphon Mara funds for the controversial Dudley House purchase in Melbourne.

“I am neither a director or owner, and have no direct or indirect interest in any of the companies named by Rafizi in his press statements as being involved in Dudley House property transactions or others carried out by Mara Inc.

“Additionally, I only joined PMB in July 2013, long after the property in question was purchased by Mara Inc,” he said.

Nazim added that he was lodging a report so that the necessary investigation could be carried out against Rafizi for attempting to damage his reputation as a Mara employee.

Rafizi had alleged last year that Nazim was connected to the companies involved in the Dudley House transaction, citing Australian court documents mentioning his name.

He claimed Nazim was one of the individuals responsible for siphoning Mara funds to these companies and was also connected to another company involved in Mara Inc’s purchase of Dudley House at RM14mil above market price.
