When I first started blogging 6 years ago, I remember a woman who decorated her entire home for Christmas using materials she found in her backyard. She didn’t spend a DIME on decorations, it was literally all from the woods. The effect was stunning– simple evergreen boughs, a few swags of pine, an advent wreath made with the just the ends of a tree branch. I wish she still blogged, that post had a profound effect on realizing how much we tend to spend on temporary decorations when straight-from-nature will often be a showstopper. With that idea in mind, here’s 25 Christmas decorations made using natural materials (plus a few things from around your home and perhaps a glue gun, and glitter– gotta throw in some glitter.) So instead of heading to the store, go out your back door and scout these basic materials as a jumping off point for your holiday decor this year!
