Solar Sun Rings
Solar Pool Rings are similar to Solar Pool Covers in that they sit on the water’s surface and use the sun’s energy to keep your pool warm. Both use clean, non polluting, renewable Solar Energy which is good for the environment and saves you money.
How They Work
The Rings are made of two layers; light or clear on top and darker, usually blue, on the bottom. The Rings transfer the sun’s heat to the pool water and keep it there.
Several rings are kept together by light magnets. The magnets are purposely made light enough to come apart easily so if someone falls into the pool, s/he won’t get trapped.
You can buy the rings separately or in packs. The number of rings you need depends on the size and shape of your pool.
How Rings Differ From A Cover
Rings do not cover the entire pool, letting in some direct sunlight. This direct sunlight helps reduce algae growth. On the other hand, some heat loss and evaporation will occur in uncovered spots.
Many people find Rings easier to manage than a Cover. Once you put them in the pool, the magnets attach easily. And the light magnets let you take them apart easily when you want to take the Rings out of the pool. There’s no need for a reel.
Enhance Other Heating Systems
Whether you have a non solar or solar heating system, pool rings can be used with it. Once you’ve heated the pool, the rings will help the pool retain that heat. Especially with a non solar system, heating the pool can be expensive and you don’t want to waste money by letting the heat escape.
