You can’t really get much better than opening a brand spanking new perfume on Christmas morning – but with all the new perfumes being released at the moment, where do you even begin? Don’t worry guys, we’ve got you covered with this roundup of some new release perfumes.
Coach Eau De Parfum* – RRP: $158.00 NZD
If you know me, you’ll know that I LOVE Coach handbags – so I was actually pretty excited to receive the first Coach perfume.
Coach Eau De Parfum is created to be as timeless as their bags, and starts with a rich raspberry, that gives way to Turkish roses, before drying down to a musk base note. To me this smells strongly of rose, so if you are a fan of rose scents I think you will absolutely love this.
The bottle as well is exceptionally beautiful, with the iconic horse and carriage logo on the front – as well as the distinctive hangtags in leather and gilt metal. Gorgeous!

DKNY Be Tempted Eau De Parfum* – RRP: $125.00 NZD
DKNY fragrances have been super popular for years, but DKNY Be Tempted is the first one I’ve ever owned, and it’s surprisingly nice.
DKNY Be Tempted has top notes of black currant bud, devil liquorice accord, red fruit accord and lemon; middle notes of rose oil essential, violet and orange flower; and dry notes of patchouli oil, vanilla and myhrr. Together these give an intoxicatingly sweet scent that you’re bound to get a bit addicted to.
The red glass bottle with metallic spray thru cap and snake embellishment is pretty damn cool too. It’s certainly a stand-out fragrance.
Available in 50ml (RRP: $89.00 NZD) and 100ml (RRP: $125.00 NZD).
Michael Kors Wonderlust Eau De Parfum* – RRP: $138.00 NZD
Micahel Kors in has always been one of the brands I’ve lusted after. The handbags and watches are especially appealing, but even their perfumes are beautifully designed. The latest one, Wonderlust, is incredibly gorgeous.
Wonderlust is a beautiful oriental floral fragrance. It has top notes of italian bergamot, sicilian mandarin, almond milk and pink pepper; middle notes of jasmine grandiflorum absolute, dianthus, jasmine sambac absolute and heliotrope; and base notes of cashmeran wood, benzoin siam and sandalwood.
It’s quite a strong scent, but then settles into the skin quite nicely. It really is a lovely scent that’s worth checking out, and is available in 2 sizes: 50ml (RRP: $138.00 NZD) and 100ml (RRP: $175.00 NZD).
Michael Kors Midnight Shimmer Eau De Parfum* – RRP: $175.00 NZD
The newest limited-edition fragrance in the Michael Kors Collection line, Midnight Shimmer is perfect for adding an extra special touch to a night out.
Michael Kors Midnight Shimmer has top notes of quince, freesia and jasmine petals; middle notes of vanilla bean, amber woods and blonde woods; and moss, peru balsam and musk dry notes. It’s a rich, woody fragrance that has strong vanilla vibes. It will definitely appeal to a lot of people!
It’s only available in the 100ml size, and is limited edition, so if you want it grab it while you can.
Yves Saint Laurent Mon Paris Eau De Parfum* – RRP: $165.00 NZD
The latest perfume launch from YSL has been one of the most talked about releases, and I’m honestly not surprised. The YSL Mon Paris Eau De Parfum is a must-have for those of you who like sweet, yet sensual scents. It has top notes of bergamot, raspberry & strawberry; peony, jasmine sambac absolute (natural) and datura at the heart; and patchouli, white musks and ambrox base notes.
On me I can really smell the sweetness of the raspberry and strawberry when first sprayed, then as it absorbs with the skin you get quite an intense floral scent. It really is quite lovely, and would be the kinda perfume I’d reach for if I was going on a date.
The multi-faceted bottle is absolutely stunning – simple, yet elegant and would look fantastic in any collection. Available in 3 sizes: 30ml (RRP: $115.00 NZD), 50ml (RRP: $165.00 NZD) and 90ml (RRP: $240.00 NZD).
Tommy Hilfiger The Girl Eau De Toilette* – RRP: $99.00 NZD
I remember Tommy Hilfiger perfumes being all the rage years ago, but I personally hadn’t seen anything from them recently until they released Tommy Hilfiger The Girl. It starts out fruity with notes of green pear, violet leaf and green fig leaves; moves into notes of velvety jasmine petals and silky muguet, before settling down to the base notes of cedarwood and cashmeran.
It is definitely not a floral scent in any way, if you prefer a more fresh, aquatic – and almost unisex-smelling scent, then this will be right up your street.
The bottle is simple, but pretty and would be a lovely addition to your collection. Tommy Hilfiger The Girl is available exclusively at Life Pharmacy and Unichem in 2 sizes: 50ml (RRP: $99.00 NZD) and 100ml (RRP: $130.00 NZD).
Any of these perfumes would be an amazing gift this Christmas, and I’d definitely recommend heading in store to get a whiff of them.
