It’s time for the second post in our new colour series, and today it’s all about gold! Last time we had 10 must-have purple products, and this time we have 10 must-have gold products. Let’s get onto it!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit – RRP: $80.00 USD

I feel like I’m constantly featuring this on the blog and instagram, but it’s honestly because I love it so much! It features 3 of the Ambient Lighting Powders in Dim Light, Iridescent Light and Diffused Light. They can all be used as highlighters, and Dim Light can actually be used all over the face as a setting powder. It’s so lovely!

There are also 2 of the Ambient Lighting Blushes in Mood Exposure and Luminous Flush as well as an Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Luminous Bronze Light. Mood Exposure is probably my favourite blush in this palette, it’s so beautiful. And the bronzer is gorgeous for warming up the complexion.

Single Eyeshadows

I love gold eyeshadows so much, so it was quite difficult to narrow it down to 2 of my favourites but I did it – and surprisingly they’re both drugstore products. The first is the NYX Eyeshadow in ES12 Golden, and after doing a quick google, I’m not actually sure if they sell these anymore? I saw some for sale on ebay though, if you can’t find them elsewhere. It is so pigmented and smooth!

The other shadow is L’Oreal Color Riche L’Ombre Pure in 500 Gold Mania* (RRP: $19.99 NZD) and it is so incredibly gorgeous. The L’Oreal Color Riche L’Ombre Pure eyeshadows are such a fantastic formula (one featured in the 10 must-have purple products post). They’re super smooth and pigmented, and last really well throughout the day. Can’t recommend them enough!

MAC Pigments – RRP: $48.00 NZD

Pigments are definitely one of my favourite things to work with. Not only because they’re multipurpose, but because they tend to be very intense in colour – and one of the best brands in my opinion, will always be MAC.

The first one I have is Blonde’s Gold which is a beautiful muted gold. I’ve actually gone through quite a bit of this because Mum’s obsessed with it and I kept having to make up little sample pots for her. The other one is Old Gold, which I think was one of the first MAC pigments I bought. It’s a gorgeous gold/green duochrome that I adore. It’s such a stunning colour. You definitely need MAC pigments in your life,

YSL Full Metal Shadow* – RRP: $57.00 NZD

If you’re after a liquid eyeshadow, then you need to get your hands on the YSL Full Metal Shadows. They’re great at creating a wash of colour on the lids, and the shade number 8 Dewy Gold is absolutely gorgeous!

This would be perfect for those days when you’re in a bit of a rush, as all it takes is a swipe of colour across the lids, lightly blended out with your finger and you’re good to go. It has a gorgeous metallic finish, and sets so it stays put all day.

Lipsticks

There’s something so incredible about lipsticks with gold packaging, they always feel so luxurious and fancy. I’m lucky enough to own a few now, but I managed to narrow it down to 4: Gerard Cosmetics Lipsticks in Buttercup & Kimchi Doll, YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick in 13 Le Orange and Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color in 7 Pink Buff.

The Gerard Cosmetics lipsticks (RRP: $29.00 NZD) are both quite a nice, semi-hydrating formula that last well on the lips. The packaging feels a little on the cheap side, but it still looks beautiful. The YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick* (RRP: $65.00 NZD) in Le Orange is in the limited edition packaging that was released just before Christmas. It’s incredibly smooth and creamy, and feels amazing on the lips. LOVE IT.

The Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color* (RRP: $62.00 NZD) in Pink Buff is one of the newest additions to my collection and it is AMAZING. Super creamy and hydrating, and insanely pigmented. I’ve have other Bobbi Brown lipsticks, but I think this is by far my favourite.

L’Oreal Age Perfect Cell Renewal Advanced Restoring Golden Serum* – RRP: $49.99 NZD

A good serum is always a must – and this one from L’Oreal is actually really nice. Inside it has a regenerative concentrate that helps improve skin’s vitality daily. It also contains Golden Micro-Reflectors that give instant radiance.

You can definitely see a golden tinge in this, and I actually love popping this on before moisturiser – and I have to say I do notice that my skin looks much more fresh and radiant. You can use it morning and night, but let’s be serious – I only apply it in the morning. Funnily enough it’s designed for 45 years + so I’m sure lots of Mums out there would love this!

Linden Leaves Gold Toning Face & Body Mist* – RRP: $49.99 NZD

Is there anything better than spritzing your face? Maybe. But it’s still one of my favourite things to do, and this Linden Leaves Gold Toning Face & Body Mist is so nice. As well as 23kt gold (there’s something super luxurious about products that contain real gold!), there’s also amaranth, red rice, witch hazel & chamomile inside which all work together to refresh, hydrate and tone the skin.

It feels amazing on, it’s so nice and refreshing – and it can even be applied over makeup. And there’s real gold in it, so you know. It’s a must-have for sure!

Garnier Body Summer Body Lotion* – RRP: $8.99 NZD

Summer is apparently coming to an end here in New Zealand, but that doesn’t mean you have to let your tan leave with it – the Garnier Body Summer Body Lotion is an awesome gradual tanner that helps you keep that summer glow, year round.

As well as building up a light, natural looking tan, it also hydrates the skin so you don’t have to worry about moisturising as well. It’s available in 2 shades: Fair – Medium & Medium – Dark.

Hair Products

The Redken Diamond Oil Shatterproof Shine Intense* (RRP: $45.00 NZD) is a silicone free oil that helps to repair damaged and distressed hair. It contains a mix of coriander, camelina and apricot oils which seal and penetrate the hair to condition and add shine from the inside out. You can add it to dry or damp hair, just make sure you concentrate it on the ends for the best results.

If you’re after a shampoo that removes impurities, whilst remaining gentle then look no further than the Kerastase 24 Carat Elixir Sublime Cleansing Oil Shampoo* (RRP: $41.00 NZD). It somehow manages to remove all dirt and oil from the hair without weighing it down, and leaves the hair with a beautiful, light fragrance.

The Matrix Biolage Exquisite Oil* (RRP: $30.00 NZD) is a gorgeously versatile serum designed to give instant shine, control and provide nourishment. You can use it before shampooing the hair, while conditioning the hair, as an overnight treatment or you can even use a little bit as a leave in finisher to help smooth fly-aways and add shine.

Michael Kors 24K Brilliant Gold* – RRP: $138.00 NZD (for 50ml)

As one of the perfumes in the new Gold Collection range from Michael Kors, I honestly couldn’t think of a product more fitting for this post! As you guys probably know, I’m seriously fussy when it comes to perfumes. Most make me feel sick, or irritate my sinuses – but this is actually so nice.

It’s a fruity floral scent that I actually really like. With top notes of citrus, floral mid notes and a woody base – this is definitely a fragrance suited to the warmer months. I find this to be quite strong when first applied, but once it settles into the skin, it becomes much lighter. I love it.

What are your favourite gold products? Have you tried any of the ones mentioned above?
