Today is an exciting review, firstly, because this is my first IMBB-Sponsored beauty product review, and I am literally over the moon. Comes in a stunning gold/copper colour outer cardboard box with the YSL logo printed in the middle. The mascara case itself is a glamorous full gold colour, again with the YSL logo placed in black and gold in the center.
Fragrance:
This mascara is NOT fragrance-free and has a light perfume-y kind of smell.
My Experience with YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils Mascara – Noir Radical:
I have almost barely-there eyelashes, and that too, they are not black, but brown in colour. Hence, in order to make my eyes stand out, I am always on the lookout for jet black eyeliners and mascaras. This is actually my first mascara from YSL and what can I say, I am absolutely enthralled with this fabulous work of art from them. This not only gives my lashes extreme length, volume, body and a stunning black look, it also gets better and better with every coat. So far, I have applied up to three coats, and there was no stickiness or clumping, and my lashes also did not stick together, but were nicely and separately noticeable. I have worn this mascara over 7/8 times since I bought it, and each and every time, have received numerous compliments from my friends and one day, I also wore it while shopping and 3 ladies kept staring at my eyes and they asked me about it.
I was only too happy to give them the lowdown about what this mascara has done for my poor little lashes. Also, while applying this, I don’t get any kind of pokey feeling that mascaras give, especially comb ones. Hence, I am a big fan of soft, voluptuous brush mascaras because invariably if I use a comb type brush, I end up poking my lash line and smudging my entire makeup.
I love how richly coated the brush gets with the mascara, yet it gives out just the right amount of product to coat lashes beautifully. The long brush feels soft and comfortable too while applying the product. I also found no irritation in wearing this for long hours but it needs a good yet gentle makeup remover to take it off.

(Sorry, ladies, the Eyeliner in Graphblack is looking quite thickly applied – that’s because it’s coming to the end and the tip has become absolutely flat).
Let’s come to the pros and cons:
Pros of YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils Mascara – Noir Radical:
Gives a real false lash effect.
Can be applied up to 3 coats, in my opinion.
Doesn’t clump.
Separates lashes well.
Gives extreme length, volume and body.
A stunning midnight-black, jet-black colour, making eyes stand out more.
Doesn’t feel sticky.
Dries quickly.
Doesn’t feel pokey while applying.
Long, soft brush spreads the colour/product nicely and evenly and smoothly over the lashes.
Good amount of product.
Cons of YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils Mascara – Noir Radical:
Expensive.
Is not fragrance-free.
In other words, seriously, this has become the best mascara I have ever used till date, and I would keep buying this again and again. (Also, available in other lovely colours, like purple, navy blue, brown, etc).
