My Experience with L’oreal Paris Colour Riche La Palette Pink Lip Palette:
The palette consists of 7 cream and matte lip colors along with 1 highlighter nicely located inside palette with a sturdy brush applicator; I personally miss mirror applicator to make it a complete palette, especially while travelling. I am also not loving the brush applicator, though it comes handy for travelling plans but I prefer using my bare minerals brush or bite beauty lip brush for doing the job. I do feel subtle fragrance in the lip colors which is not overpowering. Coming over this gorgeous colorful palette, the pink palette consists of 2 mattes, 5 glossy colors and 1 (icy pink shimmery) highlighter incorporating brighter pinks to pastel, nude pinks which seem suitable for every Indian pale/light/medium/dusky beauties so far.
Like I personally gravitate towards bold bright pink lip colors as available in the palette but I can definitely wear the pink nudes with equal confidence hence it’s a win for me. Honestly, I did not have high hopes from the palette but surprisingly the colors, the finish and texture impressed me leaving few disappointments. So, talking about impressive points, first I love how versatile the palette is incorporating both matte and glossy-creamy formula apart from providing highlighter, initially I took it as a dud shade in palette. But as I am experimenting with different mix match colors, I like the use of highlighter in my lip makeup. However, it can disappoint few of us to know that while matte bright pink shades stay longer on our lips with comfortable gel type finish but the glossy creamy lip colors tend to fade/ might require touch ups within 2-3 hours of application. Now let me briefly talk about each of the shade:
Shade 1: A sizzling hot bright fuchsia pink lip color with comfortable matte finish. I find it really flattering on my pale skin tone with smooth, saturated and opaque finish. It easily glides on lips with lip brush there by imparting full color pay off with slight translucency and light-weight finish much to my liking. I also like the fact that it never accentuates or emphasizes lip lines and/or dry patches. It stays for good 4-5 hours on my lips before fading onto subtle purple pink stain on my lips post heavy meals. It is one of the hit color in this palette.
Shade 2: An inviting purple pink matte lip color, which seems bit tricky for pale/light skin tone with yellow undertones considering it tends to make me look bit tanned at times. I also find it bit settling in dry patches, during application though it does not emphasize them further; I believe it will work well on smooth soft lip texture. It is also one of the brighter nearly opaque finish lip color in palette which provide nearly full coverage with light-weight, comfortable matte finish which stays put for good 4-5 hours with light snacks. It does tend to fade after heavy oily meals and might require touch ups but over all I am impressed with the finish and formula which make it a keeper in this palette.
Shade 3: It is a creamy glossy neutral pink lip gloss cum lip color tending to purple undertones. I like how it tends to easily slip on my dry normal lips with mildly setting in lip lines but soon adjust to barely noticeable smooth finish. It also delivers fully opaque finish with smooth saturated formula which stays put for couple of hours before fading completely off lips. Oh yes, I certainly liked the creamy glossy and light-weight texture of this color but it barely stays put for couple of hours. Nevertheless, it totally deserves to be in this pink palette for its versatile usage on every fair/light and medium skin tone beauty including gals with pigmented lips.
Shade 4: Oh la la my favorite of all colors and formula in this palette, a juicy glossy and light-weight rosy pink color. I love its effortless slip and smooth, saturated yet full color pays off on my dry normal lips, which make it one most sought after color in the palette. I find it perfect for every beauties, considering its juicy glossy finish works fine for my normal dry lips, while it fully conceals minor pigmentation on my lips. Though, it stays put for couple of hours much to my disappointment but I won’t mind re-application with this shade. I love how my lips feel plumped up and juicy throughout the wear time and even after removing it off lips. It is one of the key reasons I might re-purchase this palette.
Shade 5: Whoa! the one and only shimmery peachy pink creamy glossy lip color cum gloss. It is pretty wearable shade, even with presence of shimmers and it absolutely flatters on my pale skin tone. I like how it gives fuller plumper lips effect naturally despite the shimmers; I think shimmers add oomph to this peachy pink color. The formula seems similar to previous shade as it easily slips on my lips without emphasizing lip lines or sitting on dry patches. It will easily let go minor dryness and/or lip flaws which make it suitable for every beauty. It stays for good 2-3 hours there by leaving subtle shimmers on my lips which is easily removable. This juicy shimmery lip color is another bonus shade to reach out for the palette again and again.
Shade 6: A subtle, creamy glossy neutral purple pink lip color which looks pretty similar to shade 3 on my lips at times though there is slight difference in their finish. I can see that it tends to look neutral pink with slight milky purple hue while the former finish has brighter purple hues. Anyway, I am not fan of such lip colors considering they often appear tricky on my pale skin tone. I find them wearable for most medium/dusky beauties though. Even though the formula appears bit streaky at first but I like how it soon adjusts to smooth, saturated finish post pursing lips together. It provides light-weight, fully opaque finish without emphasizing dryness or other lip issues. Perhaps a winning color for beauties who are into nude pink shades.
Shade 7: Another shade of neutral peach pink color, with high glossy shine and opaque formula. I love how it flatters on my pale skin tone though it can easily look washed out on certain skin tones. It is a perfect daily wear peach pink shade for beauties who intend to look fresh with minimal makeup look. I love how it imparts nearly full coverage and smooth finish to lips. It is also fairly hydrating to lips, if not intense moisturizing as I feel quite soft lips throughout wear time and even after removing it off lips. It stays for 2-3 hours on my lips with or without meals leaving behind subtle pink sheen and softer lips. Surprisingly my liking for bold brighter shade, I love sporting this lip color quite often and totally find it worth in this palette.
Shade 8: An icy pink shimmery glossy lip color, which is intended to be a highlighter, I did not like it initially though. But, as I started exploring different lip makeup looks, I find myself reaching for this pale pink shimmery color more often for highlighting lip contours, cupid bone. Moreover, initially it seems just a pale colorless shimmery gloss but after few brush swirling on pan the formula and finish becomes buildable on lips. I tried it couple of times for fusion, ombre lip look and it simply added oomph to every look. Honestly, I would have never tried such glossy shimmery highlighter on my own, it is just that I started using it as it was included in palette. You may or may not like it depending upon how often you experiment with your lip looks.
So summing up this colorful palette review for you all, even though the couple of shades are not up to my liking still most creamy glossy and juicy shades make it a keeper for me. Moreover, staying power of all creamy juicy shades is 2-3 hours maximum while comfortable matte lip colors will surprise you with 4+ hours of wear time at times. Now, I personally won’t mind re-application within 2-3 hours so for me its again a hit though it is not for you, if you seek long lasting lip colors honestly. The creamy juicy formula is good enough for every beauties regardless of dry, pigmented lips considering majority of shades are glossy, I find it again worth purchasing. Now, if you are totally into subtle wearable shade, then this is a must have for you, as I see leaving first two bright shades rest of the colors are way subtle. I might get it again though I feel bit pricey for drugstore brand.
