I always love featuring the work of the ever so lovely Brett & Kristie from Byron Loves Fawn, and today’s classic and elegant wedding is pure beauty. Soothing to the soul! With a love of historic buildings and classic details like lace dresses, cakes with filigree piping and pearls, beautiful bride Rebecca stayed true to form as you can see from these pictures.

How and/or where did you meet? We originally met at a Christmas party and then didn’t see each for months.  One day, I found myself unexpectedly at a train station, we ran into each other there and the rest is history.

Tell us about your proposal: Aaron proposed on Christmas morning.  He told me to hold my hands out wide and close my eyes for my last present. I thought he had bought me a bike or a puppy! But when I opened my eyes, he was on one knee with a ring.

Any DIY/Budget elements? A talented friend drew a number of illustrations for us to use on our wedding stationery. We designed our invitations and other wedding stationery around these illustrations. The illustrations were of us at the church, our reception venue and flowers in our wedding colours. They made our invitations feel very personal and special.

Describe your wedding flowers: We asked our florist to choose whatever flowers suited our wedding and colours from what looked nice at the markets on the day. She chose a mix of ‘cottage garden’ style flowers in white, soft peach, lilac and mauve.

What advice would you give out to a couple planning their wedding? You will be overwhelmed by decisions and details. Don’t stress and focus on what is important to you. Choose good suppliers and trust their opinions and experience to alleviate some of the pressure.

Most memorable moment? Probably the rose petal toss. Emerging from the church as husband and wife and being showered with rose petals and cheers from our closest family and friends created a really cherished moment.
