The latest, cheapest MacBook Pro and iMac models on the market today come with a respectable 500 Gb of storage space. Sounds like a huge amount of echoing Mac storage, but it is surprisingly easy to fill up. A typical App can instantly munch up a whopping 30+ gigabytes of space. A year down the line, and I wouldn’t be at all shocked if you confessed your Mac storage memory was bursting at the seams.
However, while it is frustrating not being able to download music tracks, movies and install apps etc to your hearts content, it is far more annoying waking up to a slow computer.

1.) Use a professional Mac Cleaner
A Mac cleaner is a brilliant application that will scan your entire computer for old, unwanted, forgotten and duplicate files. They can also find and safely remove notorious mounted trace files, which is data left behind after programs are not removed properly. The best Mac Cleaners are thorough, safe and blissfully easy to use. They will even display their findings, allowing you to pick and chose what files you would like to keep and which ones you would like to wipe off for good. So no need to fret about accidentally deleting your wedding album!
Downloading and installing a professional Mac Cleaner is my personal preferred method to free up Mac storage space. My favourite cleaners are award winning Mackeeper and CleanMyMac2, as they have always provided me with great results. I use them every few months to keep on top of my data debris and keep my cherished Apple machines fresh and zippy fast.

2.) Purchase an External Hard Drive
If you are already a lucky owner of a high gigabyte External Hard Drive, then this could be your ticket to freeing up some serious Mac storage space. If you have loads of photos and old documents you wish to keep but don’t use often, then why not move them over to a new home on an external hard drive.
Not only will migrating files over to an external hard drive free up that much needed Mac storage space on your computer, it will also keep those treasures files safe, if heaved forbid anything happened to your Apple. Last week my sister spilt an entire mug of sugary tea over her new MacBook Pro, thank god she had all of her family and travel photos backed up on here external hard drive!
Mac External Hard drives are very easy to use and not crazy expensive when you think about the benefits they provide. I brought mine from amazon.co.uk as I like to read the product reviews. Ideally you would want an external hard drive that is of course compatible with your Apple Mac machine and one which writes and saves the new files quickly.
