“JAMFest 2014” Call for Talent
Audition Dates Set
DeLand, Florida, April 18, 2014: MAC DeLand in conjunction with Platinum Workz and the DeLand Area Chamber of Commerce will be holding auditions for a music competition and freestyle rap battle. The competition is a jumpstart to the weekend’s first annual JAMFest in concert with the African American Museum of Arts’ Juneteenth Celebration.
Participants will have the chance to showcase their talents to a panel of distinguished judges including Grammy Award winning music executives. Prizes will include recording studio time, a professional photo shoot, a feature article in Flajamz Magazine, a television spot on CW 18’s Upbeat Dance Show and a first place trophy for each competition. Opening night for JAMFest is June 13th, 2014 in Downtown DeLand (Indiana Ave), from 5pm to 10pm.
Auditions will take place Saturday, April 26th and Saturday, May 3rd, 2014 from 11am to 7pm, at Byte Restaurant and Lounge (145 N. Woodland Blvd) in DeLand. Byte is one of the latest additions to downtown DeLand’s authentic cuisine restaurants.
Audiences are welcome to come and watch the auditions at Byte. For your enjoyment, happy hour is from 11am to 7pm and a limited menu will be available.
The competition is open to all ages and musical genres.
MAC DeLand is a cultural arts committee with the DeLand Area Chamber of Commerce.
