Crisp winter winds flow through my hair as I skate
Home is something I could compare to this lake
Frost bite lingers but my face has become resistant
I spend my nights and mornings here, my profession is persistence
I learned to skate here just before the age of five
Ignored the other kids who would degrade my stride
Because I was destine for greatness, so I embrace the ride
Seeing the end of the tunnel I constantly chased the light...
Joined an organized league, had a fighting chance
My experience on the Lake proved well as I'd light the lamp
My father watched my progress as I was above the others
Made family with my teammates, got love for my brothers
Around fourteen is when I began getting scouted
I was told I had a shot at the pros but I doubted..
At sixteen I was drafted to the junior hockey league
In my hometown there were now few who thought I would not succeed
It was like coming to the end of my goals; I could spot the dream
Because I lit up the Juniors and got scouted by lots of teams
My NHL draft year came and I was invited to attend
My Dad cried when I was chosen, he was with me to the end
Now came my biggest challenge, be the best in the pros
My confidence was high and it was destine to grow..
So..

First Game As A Pro : Warm Up

The glimmered as I stepped out in the rink
The fans were so loud that I could barely think
I stay focused, emotionless as I stick handled around
My main goal was to make the country of Canada proud
I felt loose as I stretched in the corner of the boards
I looked up in the stands and spotted a horde of my decor
My whole town came to watch and were wearing my jersey
It was great to get a warm surprise early
Warm ups were near done so I took went back into the room
The building echoed in chants, nerves soon did consume

Puck Drop :

My line was second to step into the game
I was on fire, simply effective in my lane
We caught the opposition off guard as they were attempting to change
I was given a breakaway, I soon entered in range
I deked to the left then toe dragged to my backhand
Roofed the puck top shelf, my cheers were met with mass fans
As I went to great my team I slipped and fell into the boards
Twisted my left knee, I heard it rip and then it tore
Teammates pilled on top of me as I screamed in pain
I passed out and woke up to a doctor saying "I'd never be the same"
My dream was short lived but the moment will last forever
I completed my goal, I couldn't of asked for better
