2013-12-28

I can’t believe that it will be 2014 on Wednesday. I know it seems like we say that every year, but it really does seem like the years go by so much faster the older you get. And ready or not it will 2014 this week.

It seems like over the last few weeks I have been cooking and eating a ton of sweets and desserts. I think I know why everyone focuses on healthy eating in January. We all need it after the holidays. I am ready to get back to regular cooking and eating.

January this year is bringing in some changes in the diet of several in my house. Hopefully it will only be temporary though. Due to some health issues my 13 year old is having we are eliminating some foods for the month of January in hope of figuring some things out.

The changes will not be for the whole family, but I am also making the changes in how I eat for January, in order to be moral support for her. With all the other food issues we have, it is a bit overwhelming to thing about eliminating more foods, but hopefully it will only be temporary or only minor changes will be needed.

I am going to post more about this later this week and give a few more details about what we are doing. You won’t see much difference with my plans though since most in my family won’t be changing anything.

Here is the plan for this week. I am just planning dinners this week. My husband has several days off, so I will probably make a few special breakfasts, but I am not sure what I will make.

And I know it is common in the south or southern part of the US, to eat black eyed peas on New Years Day, but I am not a fan of black eyed peas. I really don’t like them at all, so the are not on the plan this week. Do you eat black eyed peas on New Year’s Day?
