Penn State Lehigh Valley has announced the promotion and tenure of Denise T. Ogden, Ph.D., of Allentown.

Ogden was granted tenure and received promotion to full professor of marketing. She is in her twelfth year at the Penn State Lehigh Valley campus. Ogden holds a Ph.D. (Business Administration/Marketing) from Temple University, an M.B.A. (Marketing and Quality Systems) from DeSales University, and a B.S. (Business Administration/Marketing) and B.A. (Psychology) from Adams State College in Colorado. She is the co-author of textbooks in retailing, marketing and integrated marketing communication and has published articles in many academic journals.

Prior to pursuing a career in academia, Ogden worked in public relations for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation in Alamosa, Colorado. Upon arriving in Pennsylvania in 1989, she joined D&B (formerly the Dun & Bradstreet Corporation) where she gained experience in various positions. There her accomplishments included developing and implementing a diversity training program and winning two national awards for outstanding performance.

In 2003 and 2013, Ogden was the recipient of the Lehigh Valley Campus Teaching Excellence Award. Her research interests include retailing, integrated marketing communication (IMC) and multicultural elements of business. In addition to diversity consulting, her consulting firm, The Doctors Ogden Group LLC, specializes in retailing, marketing research and entertainment retailing. She is also active as newsletter editor and college liaison for the Center for Retailing Solutions.
