Penn State Lehigh Valley announces a variety of professional development courses available during the fall semester. Courses will be held at the Saucon Building in Center Valley, and the Corporate Learning Center in Bethlehem.

 

Functional Manager Certificate – begins September 14

A performance management program for experienced managers.

 

Green Advantage Environmental Certification (Commercial) – begins September 24

Green Advantage® is an environmental certification for building-related practitioners - primarily contractors, subcontractors, and trades people.

 

Lean and Six Sigma Certificate Program – begins September 9

Learn the fundamentals for continuous improvement in any service or manufacturing environment.

 

LEED AP+ Building Design & Construction Exam Prep Course – September 25

This specialty provides a standard for professionals participating in the design and construction phases of high-performance, healthful, durable, affordable, and environmentally sound commercial, institutional, and high-rise residential buildings.

 

LEED Green Association Exam Prep Course – September 18

This course is for professionals who want to demonstrate green building expertise in non-technical fields of practice.

 

Nurse Management Certificate Program – begins September 28

Earn a nurse management certificate; then let it work for you toward a bachelor’s degree.

 

OSHA 10 Hour General Industry Course – begins September 23

This OSHA outreach course focuses on the practical aspects of safety and the practical application of OSHA standards.

 

Project Management Certificate Series – begins September 9

This program is designed for individuals from both nontechnical and technical fields who are new to project management; managers who must deal with multiple projects; and for those who are looking for formal project management training.

 

Supervision Essentials Certificate Program – begins September 11

This program is a leadership competency series for new and upcoming frontline supervisors.

 

Production Management Certificate Program – begins September 21

These courses, when combined with professional experience and personal study, can lead to success in the Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) exam series offered through the Association of Operations Management (APICS).

 

Society for Human Resource Management- SHRM Learning System® - begins September 11and September 14

This course provides students with an up-to-date overview of key human resource management concepts and trends and includes preparation for PHR/SPHR certification.

 

American Payroll Association PayTrain® Fundamentals – begins October 3

This course will provide students with the basic knowledge and skills required to maintain payroll compliance and prevent costly penalties. It includes preparation for FPC Certification.

 

FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) Certification Review – begins September 21

FE Review is an intensive 78-hour review course to prepare candidates for the Pennsylvania Fundamentals of Engineering examination. Topics covered include engineering mathematics, statics, thermodynamics, chemistry, dynamics, fluid mechanics, and engineering economics.
