Just in time for fall travel season, Forbes Travel Guide reveals its inaugural update to the official Forbes Travel Guide Star Rating list, adding eight new Five-Star hotels, restaurants and spas; 47 new Four-Star hotels, restaurants and spas; and 36 new Recommended hotels and restaurants.
Though we’ve been hard at work inspecting and rating the world’s best hotels, restaurants and spas for more than 55 years, we’ve never before revealed new additions to our list outside of our annual announcement (which takes place each winter—watch in January for even more Star Rating news).
Since travel is so dynamic — yesterday’s hot new bistro could be gone tomorrow — we feel it’s important to keep you up to date with the very latest on the world’s best places to stay, dine and spa.
Each year, we’ll reveal our new global Star Ratings in the winter, and follow up with an update mid-summer on the latest openings, Star Rating changes and more.
Spotlighted in this addition to the full list of Forbes Travel Guide Star Rating recipients are Four Seasons Hotel Seattle, Rosewood Hotel Georgia in Vancouver and The Connaught in London, with each earning Five-Stars for the first time.
Washington D.C.’s Plume at The Jefferson snagged Five-Stars, as did Manresa in Los Gatos, Calif.; The Restaurant at Meadowood in Napa Valley, Calif.; and The Fearrington House Restaurant at Five-Star The Fearrington House Inn in Pittsboro, N.C. Sense Spa at Rosewood Hotel Georgia also received a Five-Star rating.
The Forbes Travel Guide Star Rating list now includes 83 Five-Star hotels, 32 Five-Star restaurants and 38 Five-Star spas, plus 264 Four-Star hotels, 154 Four-Star restaurants and 147 Four-Star spas.
New this year is Forbes Travel Guide’s Recommended rating, which designates properties that deliver exceptional value and an enhanced experience — 2013’s list includes 46 Recommended hotels and 28 Recommended restaurants.
