2014-10-02

It's no secret that Christmas is my favourite time of the year and it all kick starts when Lush make their festive goodies available. Walking into a Lush store in the run up to Christmas is magical, exciting...and oh so expensive. The few months I can stock up on warming, cinnamon and zesty clementine products are heaven as is seeing the extravagant gifts sat under our tree come Christmas morning. Yesterday Lush launched their Autumn-Winter collection online HERE (and in store Friday) with my thoughts on the new and old here for you!

Lush Christmas | NEW Items for 2014

Dashing Santa bath bomb | £2.95

A new addition to the Lush Christmas range for 2014, this little guy has been designed to look as if he's running around your bath tub. Similar to the Father Christmas bath bomb, I'll be purchasing the new and saving a few pennies!

Butterbear bath bomb | £1.95

I keep on wanting to call this new addition Butter Beer. Butterbear smells like Hot Chocolate due to the high concentration of cocoa butter. I've ordered three as he's so cheap and I'm guessing similar to my all year round favourite Butterball and replacing the snowman bath bomb.

The Christmas Hedgehog  bubble bar | £3.25

How adorable is this little guy? Packed with both Shea Butter & Cocoa Butter this bubble bar sounds like he'll create a highly moisturising bath and a tonne of creamy bubbles. Fragranced with Rose Absolute and Ylang Ylang Mamma Writes is going to be one happy lady.

The Drummers Drumming bubble wand | £5.25

I'm sure we're all familiar with the Magic wand from Lush, now they've added another. Scented with Yummy, Yummy, Yummy, a past favourite shower gel/cream I loved in my teens. I'm not sure if I'll be buying one, as I've had enough of the also sweetly scented Magic Wand.

Holly Go Lightly bubble bar | £4.75

How incredible does this bar look!? I'm a sucker for the glitzy numbers from Lush, with last nights bath being my last Golden Egg from this years Easter line. The glam Christmas pudding-esq bubble bar smells absolutely divine fragranced with lime, patchouli and warming cinnamon.

Yog Nog soap | £3.40 per 100g

As you can guess from the title, this new soap addition is inspired by the drink Egg Nog. Having never tasted or smelt the drink I have no idea if I'll actually be picking up a slice, even if it is dusted with Cinnamon and Nutmeg.

Reindeer Rock soap | £3.10 per 100g

Word on the street is Reindeer Rock smells just like the Comforter, which is one of my absolute favourite products from Lush.

Baked Alaska soap | £3.25 per 100g

Each year we're greeted with a citrus Christmas soap and each year I buy huge chunks to put with my Dads gifts. Baked Alaska is fragranced with lemon, myrtle and grapefruit, an uplifting scent perfect for after all the Christmas parties.

Snow Angel bath melt | £3.95

Another new addition I'm excited to try, Snow Angel is half bath bomb, half bath melt. I already know I'll be buying a tonne because it's ROSE scented and the melt half covered in glitter. Mamma Writes is going to love this one, she still thinks back to me being the Christmas Angel age 5 :P

Snowman Fun | £5

With a few variations on FUN appearing in the Lush Kitchen, we've yet another I'm sure will go down a treat. As you can see the bar is split into colours ready for you to create your own snowman scented with Easters Carrot Soap's blackcurrant fragrance. If you have children who buy for friends this is the product to buy with so many uses from beautifully scented play-dough...to bubble bath, creamy body wash and even washing smelly school clothes!

Hot Toddy shower gel | £3.95

I'm most excited about getting my hands on Hot Toddy. Each year Lush bring out a strongly scented, winter warming shower gel! Old favourites of the past have been Glogg & Ponche, Hot Toddy's mix of ginger, cinnamon, lime and orange sounds absolutely incredible.

So White shower gel | £4.50

Another shower gel I'm excited about trying out is Snow White, having always picked up the bath bomb since it's days of being a small bath bomb, compared to the large, coloured centre we're now used to. Last year I was all about Rose Jam, I have a feeling So White & Hot Toddy will be my favourites for 2014.

Snowman shower jelly | £3.50

Another product to use the various Easter carrot products scent, this time in a shower jelly. I adore shower jellies, they're tricky to use at first but if you can bare to break up the snowman shaped jelly you'll get more uses and less time spent chasing around your shower. Who can remember the Strawberry Santa shower jelly?

First Snow dusting powder | £4.75

If you're a fan of the returning bath bomb Golden Wonder, you'll be wanting to purchase the new Dusting Powder that carries it's famous scent. Unlike most Lush dusting powders this one contains a little shimmer, perfect for the Christmas events just around the corner.

Lush Christmas | Returning Items for 2014

Father Christmas bath bomb | £3.50

Father Christmas is another must purchase to get anyone into the Christmas spirit. If you adore citrus scents you'll love this guy, especially with the glitter and coloured spirals created in the bath water.

Luxury Lush Pud bath bomb | £3.50

My old favourite received an upgrade last year granting it the Luxury Lush Pud. Instead of the almond scent we were once familiar it now carries Twilight's relaxing fragrance as well as soap discs and colourful waters. A must have on any Christmas list and my Christmas Eve bath of choice.

Shooting For The Stars bath bomb | £3.50

I purchased so many Shooting For The Stars last year and I urge you purchase one. Scented with Honey I Washed The Kids, this bath bomb turns your water into a incredible night sky complete with slight shimmers.

Cinders bath bomb | £2.50

It's not Christmas without Cinders. Each year we stock up on this little chap and I can't imagine cosy night baths without him. The water isn't the best of shades, though you won't get any closer to Christmas without a crackling (popping candy) cinnamon infused bath.

Golden Wonder bath bomb | £3.75

Golden Wonder is kinda...the King of Lush Christmas bath bombs. Each year it returns with the citrus fresh scent and rattling surprise centre. Prepare your tub for the Christmas extravaganza.

So White bath bomb | £3.50

So White used to be the tiny white bath bomb that would always get muddled in your collection if you had a butterball as well. These days So White has enlarged along with an added surprise centre, making the dull waters quite fun after all.

The Christmas Penguin bubble bar | £3.25

Mr Penguin has again returned to us, maybe I didn't need to stock up so much in the sales!? He's the Olive Branch shower gel and Pop In The Bath bubble bar in disguise for Christmas and absolutely worth grabbing enough to make your own Colony.

Candy Mountain bubble bar | £2.75

Each year Creamy Candy gets all dressed up for the festive season - just like it did at Easter, as the Bunny bubble bar. If you're looking for a nourishing, sweetly scented bath then this bubble bar is the perfect treat.

Christmas Eve bubble bar | £2.95

As the name suggests, this bubble bar is perfect for a wind down the evening before the big day. Scented with Jasmine & Ylang Ylang while Irish Moss powder provides silky waters to accompany the seductive scent.

Magic Wand bubble bar | £5.25

Another sweet treat with endless uses. The Magic wand returns for yet another year and remains the best of the Lush wands created. A few swishes around the tub provide mountains of bubbles and plenty of fun for little princesses.

Melting Snowman bath melt | £2.25

This adorable chap is not one to be missed, occasionally his scent has been changed though he remains a little spicy this Christmas and ever so moisturising.

Light Star Bright bath melt | £3.50

Returning is the craziest bath melt Lush have created in my eyes! This one leaves glitter everywhere from a single touch - one to leave in the wrappings until you really are to use. If you want a moisturising bath, Light Star Bright contains cocoa and Shea butter, with a surprise centre.

Snowcake soap | £3.40 per 100g

It's as loved as good old Snow Fairy and no product comes as close a this delicious bar smells. The creamy, almond scented bar leaves skin silky soft and delicately scented.

Gold Fun | £5

Gold Fun is back, with the sweet Honey I Washed the Kids fragrance. This bar, like the Snowman Fun makes a brilliant gift for school children or stocking fillers for us grown ups!

Snow Fairy shower gel | £3.75

The product every Lush fan wishes to return is Snow Fairy and boy would there be riots if it didn't. Snow Fairy adds a sparkle to your day and 'fairy dust' to your shower.

Rose Jam shower gel | £4.75

Last year I fell for Rose Jam shower gel, if you're looking for something just as magical and festive as snow fairy but not a lover of such sweet treats? Rose Jam is perfect for you.

Santa's Lip Scrub | £5.50

The cola flavoured lip scrub returns again providing us all with the smoothest lips ready for the mistletoe. Caster Sugar, dates and cherries scrub, buff and soften ready for you to apply Santa Baby Lip Tint | £5.95 - a highly pigmented red lip balm.

Buche de Noel cleanser | £6.50 per 100g

With Let The Good Times Roll added to regular line, BDN is the only festive skincare item to appear this year. I hoped the Rudolph mask would appear again, alas it hasn't. If you're a fan of Angels On Bare Skin you'll love this cleanser and if you don't like AOBS...still give it a whirl before stocking up on this roll cleanser.

Snow Fairy Sparkle massage bar | £4.95

Returning to our shelves is the Snow Fairy massage bar, if you love the fragrance, love glitter and don't mind having to really work the pink formula in to avoid looking like Mr Blobby this will be for you....OR do what the Sunday Girl does and use them in your wax burner.

Celebrate hand & body lotion | £12.95 per 225g tub

Celebrate, the incredibly thick and hydrating Christmas moisturiser is back. Packed with almond oil, cocoa butter, cognac and orange oil you'll hopefully not only smell delicious but also fight off the skin drying winter weather.

Since we no longer have the retro section I'm hoping we'll see lots of classics appearing on the daily Kitchen Menu's. Items I'd love to see would be the Bearded Lady - a bubble bar from a few Christmas' ago which was incredibly hydrating and packed full of oats. The Christmas Angel is another bath bomb I'd love to see again, after falling for it last year. Scented with Haagenbath fragrance, your skin is left smelling of mint chocolate chip ice cream. Which of the new items are you most looking forward to? I've placed my large order  this afternoon. Lucy xx
