2017-01-20

I simply love the start of a New Year, and the start of a new Project Life Album. There is just something so excited about being at the beginning of a new album.

As I look back over my 2016 Project Life Albums I finally feel like I have found a good system, and work flow.

There are several things that will remain the same as I head into documenting 2017, there are some minor things I plan on tweaking, and few bigger picture goals I have.

{2017 Project Life Set}

This is how my title paged turned out. You can check out my title page complete with photos on my Instagram account HERE.

I’ve now been using Project Life to document our everyday moments since 2011, and each year that goes by I end up loving this system more that the year before.

I thought I would share with you what my plan for this next year, what I’m using, and how I’m using it.

{My Plan For This Year}

I have 5 Project Life Style albums that I do each year. Our family album, 1 album for each of my 3 kids, and my One Little Word mini album. With each album I find if I am able to “set it up” ahead of time it helps me remain successful, and engaged with the album all year long.

For Our Family Album, and each of the kids album I set up the album using either a core kit, designer paper, or a kit from Stampin’ Up for each month.

{Supplies I’m Using}

Over the years I have found that it is easier for me work with product that coordinates. I tend to want things to match.

Printable:

There are a few items that I have created myself to use, and a few items that I found online for free that I printed out to use this year. I print all of my printable on Whisper White Card Stock from Stampin’ Up.

Monthly Calendar Circles – I found these online for free HERE.

I printed them out on Whisper White Card Stock and used my Circle Framelits to cut them out. I will be used a stitched framelit set to layer colored cardstock behind them.

Weekly Number Circles – I created these myself, and you print them out HERE.

Monthly 8 1/2 x 11 Calendars – I found these online for free HERE.

Stampin’ UP!:

Most of the tools that I am using on my Project Life Albums are from Stampin’ Up. This is simply because the punches, die cuts, and other tools I have are from Stampin’ Up.

I find that my Stampin’ Up Ink Colors, and Cardstock are easy to match up with others products that I am using.

Becky Higgins:

I’m excited to share that I am now affiliate partner with Becky Higgins. You can purchase any products you need from Becky Higgins HERE through my affiliate link. This means when you shop use this link I get a small commission . This does not change the price of the product for you. It is simply a small way you can support what I’m doing see on my website.

I will be using several core kits through out the year. Many of these core kits are ones that have been my favorite for years.

Everyday Core Kit – I will be using mainly in my One Little Word project, however I love this kit so much I’m sure it will an appearance in other projects through the year.

Midnight Core Kit – This is still one of my  favorite kits. Yellow, Black & Grey make this core kit simple, and easy to use.

Currently Core Kit – This is a great kit, one of my favorite. This kit will go with so many other kits.

Cottage Living – This is a core kit I do not currently have, but I am thinking about adding it to my collection.

Jade {Retired}

Clementine {Retired}

I’m also using the Project Life App. I use this app mostly for the collage feature. It makes it super easy to put anywhere from 2 – 4 photos together. I am also able to create larger prints 6×8, 8×8 or 12×12.

Ali Edwards:

I currently am subscribed to Ali Edwards Story Kit. I get both the Story Kit & the Stamp Kit, which means I get the Digital kit for free.

There are a few other products I use from Ali Edwards, these are mostly products for One Little Word

Story Kit – I will be using the stamps, and embellishemnts from these monthly kits.

One Little Word Product – I will be using a few of the items that I purchased for my One Little Word product in my other albums this year.

Amazon:

These are a few other items I use that I have found on.

Avery Tabs – These are one of my favorite things to use in my album. I use these a few times a months.

Avery Metel Rim Tags – I use this for embellishments, I use a 1 inch circle punch to create the layer on top of the tag.

Corner Chomper – I use this to round the corners of my pictures, cardstock, and designer paper.

Crop-A-Dile Hole Punch – I use this when I’m adding items to my album that are not going to be in page plastics.

Snappy Tray – I love this for embossing.

Clear Dividers – These are a Becky Higgins brand, they are just not sold on her website anymore.

{Photos}

This is the biggest struggle I have had, from organizing them, to printing them. It has gotten easier to organize my photos since I have had my MacBook Pro.

I will be sharing the systems I have found later this year.

As for printing I still am uploading through Snapfish. I’ve been uploading to www.snapfish.com for over 10 years, and this works as another way to back up my photos.

Instead of waiting 2 to 3 weeks for my photos to get be delivered, I have use the option to pick up locally, as of right now I am printing through Walmart.

{Looking Forward To this Year….}

I’m so excited to to be using Project Life to document our everyday moments! If you have any of the questions about the items that I am using, or my process please feel free to email!

I will be sharing an overview of my Project Life album month by month. Look for January’s overview the first few weeks of February.
