The scarlet liquid drips sweetly off your lips
Mixing with my tears of longing and sorrow
My bloodshot eyes scan your lifeless form
And wrap my arms tightly around you
“Please no. Just stay. I am still not strong enough. I love you with everything I have. Even though I am nothing. I still have love. And you. It’s all I’ll ever have and want. I need you.” I cried.
You cannot hear me
My tearful cries
Of undying love and longing
Pain takes control

Please
I stroke your silky hair
No breath exits your body
Your eyelids do not flutter
Your laugh does not ring out in the dead air
I am truly alone now
