Looking for a fun and different way to spend a Sunday afternoon this summer? Why not polo? – On May 3, the season officially opened at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club. www.sbpolo.com
Take the beautiful coastal drive from Los Angeles and you’ll be transported to a delightful day of polo with family and friends at the prestigious club nestled between the ocean and foothills.
From enjoying complimentary valet, wine tastings and beauty bar to spending time with the equine athletes to admiring the luxury Maserati automobiles, (and of course enjoying two action packed matches), the day can be enjoyed by one and all, every Sunday through October 11.

The entire family is welcome with seating available in the old-fashioned grandstand area, as well as in private tents and cabanas. In addition to an on-site grill, guests are encouraged to pack their own picnic baskets.
Participate in the entire polo culture by arriving in your best “derby” attire, hats and fascinators. The famous “divot stomp” takes place at half-time of each game, and spectators are invited to step out onto the field, help turn over the divots made by the galloping horses and enjoy a complimentary glass of bubbly.
Cheers! Guaranteed to be a memorable day!
For those who can’t make the trek up to the Santa Barbara area, British Polo Day USA in Los Angeles is scheduled for May 30 at Will Rogers Park. Hosted by the President of Will Rogers Polo Club, Andrew Bossom, Lord Frederick Windsor and his wife, actress and writer Sophie Winkleman, guests and VIPs will be treated to a day of fast-paced polo. As part of an ongoing commitment to philanthropy, the event supports local Los Angeles charity Homeboy Industries alongside The UK Stem Cell Foundation. www.britishpoloday.com
