I love this look because it’s perfect for a fun night out or a party look. It’s all about sparkling this 2017 so why not sparkle with this gorgeous makeup look? Luckily for you, Carrie of Miss Carrie Makeup herself is here to give us some tips on how to recreate this stunning beauty look. Read on to learn more!
Prep
Make sure is your Skin is freshly cleansed and moisturized before applying your foundation for a more flawless finish.
Face
I started off using Gleam by Melanie Mills in Rose Gold to add a glow to my skin and blur imperfections. I followedthat by using Skindinvia Oil Control Primer.
Next I used MAC Cosmetics Studio Fix Fluid Foundation in NC35, which is a nice buildable medium to full coverage foundation. I blended that into my skin with a Real Techniques Beauty Sponge.
I concealed/corrected/brightened under my eyes, my chin, top of lips, bridge of my nose, and the center of my forehead for more coverage and to add dimension back to my face. I blended with my beauty sponge.
For further dimension I contoured under my cheekbones, jawline, and forehead with RCMA‘s cream contouring/highlighting palette and used a Motives Flat Top Foundation Brush to blend it out.
To achieve my bright highlight, before setting my face with powder, I applied a small amount of Gleam Body Radiance on my cheekbones and brow bone, tapped it in with my fingers. Then I directly applied my Anastasia Beverly Hills Sundipped Glow Kit highlight in Moonstone, before layering on Summer (lighter and brighter) over the highest point on my cheekbone with a Sigma F42 Strobing Fan Brush. The key to an amazing highlight without patchiness is not to set powder prior to the application of your highlight and layering your highlight directly over your cream highlight or even just your foundation! Don’t forget to lightly apply highlight to the bridge of your nose, and the inner corners of your eyes.
I used RCMA cream blush in Berry Bliss and lightly tapped it into my skin for a blush that appears as though its coming through my skin
I set my face with RCMA No Color Powder.
I bronzed with MAC Mineralize Powder in Dark on my cheekbones, temples, and forehead. Then I used Anastasia Beverly Hills Powder Contour Kit in light/medium to enhance my cream contour under my cheekbones, jawline, along my hairline, and the sides of my nose.
I finished my face with a light application of MAC Modern Mandarin Blush on the apples of my cheeks and a fluffy blush brush.
Brows
I used a Sigma E75 Angled Brush and Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow first in Ash Brown to correct my brow shape and arch and then Ebony to add tiny hairlike stokes to mimic real hairs in sparse areas. By using two colors it creates a more realistic look.
To clean up and create a more defined brow look I carved out my brows underneath with Motives Color Perfection Quad in light with a Motives Cosmetics Angled Eyeliner Brush. Lastly I set my brow with Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel to keep my brows in place followed by NYX Tinted Brow Mascara in Black applied lightly to accentuate finer/lighter brow hairs on the tail of my brows
Eyes
I started my eyes with MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre as base set with Anastasia Beverly Hills Eyeshadow in Tempera from the Modern Renaissance Palette.
To start to create dimension and define my crease I used 2 colors from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette. I used the color Golden Ochre first focused in the transition area with a Morphe M441 Pro Firm Blending Crease Brush. Then taking Raw Sienna I used a MAC 224 Brush to push that slightly darker color in my crease. Lastly I took Cyprus Umber from the Modern Renaissance Palette on the same MAC brush and focused it on the outer V of my eyes and blended it out so there were no harsh lines.
To execute the cut crease I used Soft Ochre paint pot and a Sigma E62 Cut Crease Brush. I started on the inner corner carving out my lid area and continued to carve out where I wanted my CUT to be in my crease. I kept the outer half of my CUT flowing upward toward my temples to open and elongate my eye shape. This step is necessary to start creating the defined crease. Following your natural eye shape works, but if you have less lid space or hooded eyelids you may need to take the cut crease a bit higher to create the illusion of a more lid space and a new “fake” defined crease. By cutting the crease with a lighter color you are starting to create that contrast between your lid color and crease.
I then took Motives Gold Rush Eyeshadow over the area that I applied over the Soft Ochre Paint Pot.
The next step I took was creating a dramatic wing eyeliner. I used MAC Chromaline gel/cream eyeliner in Black Black with a Sigma E06 Wing Liner Brush. I set the liner with my FAVE black eyeshadow Onyx from Motives. To further define and Darken my Wing I used Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner in Trooper.
Next to take this look up to ultimate GLAM status I used Lit Cosmetics Glitter size 3 in the color Rich& Famous. I applied the glitter as directed with a Motives Lip Brush which came in their 8 piece brush set. Control the glitter by using a small and dense brush. I applied the glitter all over the Motives Gold Rush Eyeshadow.
Next I defined my crease with Motives Tiramisu Eyeshadow. I took the same Motives Lip Brush that used to apply glitter(cleaned) and I lightly applied Tiramisu right above the glitter and along the Cut Crease to further define it and add depth. I added the lightest amount of Motives Onyx eyeshadow where I wanted more depth along the crease.
I then took Motives Khol Eyeliner in Suede and applied to my lower lashing and on my waterline. I smudged it out with a Morphe E35 which is a small dense brush. To set it and smoke it out I first applied Warm Taupe from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette with a MAC 217 which is moderately fluffy blending brush. Then to add warmth along the lash line I took Motives Caramel Eyeshadow on the same brush and swept it underneath the Warm Taupe. Lastly I took Motives Tiramisu Eyeshadow on the waterline and outer corners to define.
Before applying false lashes I put 2 coats of Maybelline Falsies Mascara on my top eyelashes, Next I added Lilly Lashes Mink Eyelashes in the style Mykonos. I customized them to my eye shape by cutting them to create a half lash (only covers the outer half of my eye) that would accentuate the outer corners of my eyes and not take away from the cut crease I created.
To define my lower lashes I used NYX Cosmetics Skinny Mascara in Black.
Lips
I used Dose of Colors Liquid Lipstick in Coral Crush.
