In case you may have noticed, there is a new kid (ahem, me) in town. I'd like to consider this my digital handshake of sorts, and I figured why not extend a friendly hello? And, what better way to get acquainted than to share a few things that are currently inspiring me right now, and give you a hint of things to come at Lonny.

I'm really excited to be overseeing the site (I officially joined a few weeks ago, coming from Refinery29 where I was working as the West Coast Lifestyle Editor) and now that my sea legs are starting to set in, I can't wait to fully dive in. But I don't want to make this all about me. I'd love to hear from you guys about what's on your mind these days and what Lonny content you're loving right now. Give me a shout in the comments and feel free to share your own current obsessions below. Ahead are five things I can't get enough of these days.

1. Decluttering

Okay, I have a confession: I am not much of a minimalist. In fact, I might go so far as to say I love (controlled) clutter. But, after reading Fay Wolf's amazing organizing book New Order: A Decluttering Handbook for Creative Folks (and Everyone Else), I am finally starting to toss things out. And it feels great. Yeah, maybe I don't need every holiday card from the past four years. This book has kind of changed my life. Marie Kondo, who?

2. Lemonade

I don't think there is even a word for the game-changing level Beyonce reached when she dropped Lemonade. I have had it looping on repeat non-stop. Beyond looking to her as a powerful #girlboss, the album’s themes of evolution and progress really resonate with me, especially thinking about the months ahead. Plus, there are so many compartments to unpack in terms of the the societal and political statements she makes with this album. It's such a great piece of work.

3. Unwinding

There's nothing that sparks creativity like time spent away from screens. I find that all my best aha-moments come in the most peaceful, relaxing settings. I just recently got married and am embarking on a Hawaii getaway in the next few weeks, so I'm really looking forward to time spent unwinding and drumming up ideas in Kauai — and coming back with fresh content for the site.

4. The New SF MOMA

I recently checked out the SF MOMA ahead of its opening, and every nook is reimagined and breathes new life into the modern museum. Designed by architecture firm Snøhetta, you can really sense how every element of the interior was meant to emphasize the art. I could have wandered around for days and can't wait to go back.

5. Moody Hues

It's no secret inky blues and darker tones are having a moment. I’m a huge color lover, but I am finally warming up to and feeling inspired by the mysterious vibes of darker hues. I love the idea of experimenting with painting furniture or an accent wall pitch-black.
