For the past 4-6 weeks, I have used Bee Mine Products for every single wash day and they are definitely my go-to staples at the moment. Not just the moisturizers, but the shampoo, the moisturizing conditioner, the curly butter, the juicy spritz…my hair is absolutely LOVING them! I used the Bee-U-ti-Ful Moisturizing Deep Conditioner when it was first introduced years ago and although I can’t be certain, I believe the owner has tweaked and improved the formula since then because it feels completely different (thicker, creamier) and my hair has responded completely differently – in an amazingly good way!
As for my wash day routine, it has remained the exact same. Relaxed or natural – it doesn’t really matter in my opinion. Growing healthy hair requires the same care and great products regardless of texture. The only small difference is I wash my hair in four sections now rather than completely loose. So my current wash day routine for my natural and transitioning hair is as follows:
Pre-poo to detangle and remove shed hair. This is especially important after wearing long term protective styles and even styles where my hair hasn’t been manipulated for a week or longer. Now that the majority of my hair is relaxer free, it would be disasterous to allow water to hit my hair before it is completely detangled – the water would result in shrinkage which would trap shed hair and tighten knots making the entire process much more difficult.
Wash with sulfate-free shampoo. Since I use Bee Mine products, which are all organic, to maintain my hair between wash days, there is no need for a heavy detergent or clarifying shampoo. I wash twice, making sure to focus on my scalp first then the length of my hair.
Deep condition with heat. Since I’ve stopped relaxing my hair, I pretty much always use a moisturizing deep conditioner now that I no longer have to worry as much about maintaining my moisture-protein balance. However, regardless of which conditioner I use, I always use heat to help it penetrate my hair cuticle. The Bee-U-ti-Ful Moisturizing Deep Conditioner is amazing – you will see the effect in the video.
Style with minimal direct heat. While relaxed, I very rarely used any direct heat and now that I am transitioning to natural hair, I do prefer using my blow dryer to stretch my natural hair but I still apply heat sparingly. I don’t aim to get my hair completely straight, just stretch out the hair to make styling easier, to show the length more, and to eliminate potential tangles for the next wash day.
I walk you through the entire process in the video below as I review the Bee Mine Organics product line.

Below are the ingredients for each of the products featured in the video along with my thoughts on each. If anything from Bee Mine are absolute MUST haves in my opinion it is the: balanced cream moisturizer, moisturizing deep conditioner and curly butter. Personally, my hair has been loving everything but those three are my top recommendations.
Daily Conditioner: Distilled Water, Chamomile Extract, Cetearyl Alcohol, PEG-40 Castor Oil and Stearalkonium Chloride, Cupuacu Butter, Organic Coconut Oil, BTMS (mild emulsifier), Organic Raw Honey, Preservative (Paraben & Formaldehyde Free), Fragrance (Phthalate Free). On the new label it reads an incorrect preservative the correct preservative is Optiphen – INCI name (Phenoxyethanol & Caprylyl Glycol)
I actually prefer using EVCO or a new product by Motions (review forthcoming) to prepoo. I’m not too into instant conditioners; they don’t serve a purpose in my hair regimen. But for those who do wash and go’s – this may be a good item for you. I won’t be re-ordering.
Botanical Moisturizing Shampoo: Distilled water, Decyl glucoside and Sodioum Lauroyl Lactylate (natural surfactant blend), Calendula Extract, Lemon Grass Extract, Rosemary Extract, Lavender Extract, Rose Extract, Nettle Extract and Chamomile Extract, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride (naturally derived from guar gum), dl Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5), Fragrance (Phthalate Free), Preservative (Paraben & Formaldehyde Free)
There are a lot of great sulfate free cleansers and shampoos on the market, but this is definitely one of my favorites because it gives great lather (despite not containing SLS) and is thin so it seeps throughout my hair and reaches my scalp easily.
Bee-U-ti-Ful Deep Conditioner: Distilled water, Cetearyl Alcohol, BTMS (mild emulsifier), 100% Organic Unrefined Shea Butter, 100% Organic Coconut Oil, Cupuacu Butter, Calendula Extract, Chamomile Extract, Organic Raw Honey, Paraben and Formaldehyde Free Preservative, Fragrance (Phthalate Free)
LOVE this product! It is thick and creamy and melts into my hair strands! After applying heat with my Hot Heads Deep Conditioning Hat, my hair is tangle free and has so much slip! I don’t even need to use a leave-in conditioner afterwards.
Results of a twist out using Bee Mine Organics products.
Curly Butter: 100% Organic Shea Butter, 100% Organic Aloe Vera Gel, Essential Oil Blend, Vegetable Glycerin, Rosemary Leaf and Chamomile Extract, Silk Powder, Paraben & Formaldehyde Free Preservative and Perfume
Love this item, soft and moisturized hold! You can see the results of using this product in the above twist out, staple for styles I plan to wear regularly (braid/twist outs) once my hair is fully natural.
Juicy Spritz: Organic Aloe Vera Juice, Herbal Infused Purified Water, Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Pure Glycerin, Ayurvedic Herbs, Select Herbs, Polysorbate 20, Essential oils of Tea Tree, Peppermint & Grapefruit, Vitamin E Tocopherol Oil, Fragrance, Paraben & Formaldehyde Free Preservative
Perfect refresher and daily moisturizer for long term protective styles when your hair is not accessible to moisturize and seal in the traditional method.
Bottom line, I really love Bee Mine products and will be using them regularly on wash days except when I have a product review or problem with my hair and may need a special treatment. Bee Mine Organics can be purchased at www.BeeMineProducts.com. I do plan on reviewing a few drug store lines for your convenience and pocketbook, however this is my current staple hair care line. Most cities now offer “natural” beauty supply stores where you can purchase them locally, but even if you have to order online I think Bee Mine products are totally worth it.
