Desiree Holt  Telling stories and understanding people. I’ve been doing it for years.

Melissa Schroeder  I believe my father once remarked I was good at creating difficult situations, but I am an excellent cook. And I love to do it also, so that’s good all around. I based my choice in house for hubby’s military retirement mainly on the kitchen, lol.

Karen Stivali  I’m really good at baking. I’ve always loved to cook and bake and started doing both as soon as I was old enough to stand on a kitchen chair and help my mom and grandmother in the kitchen. With baked goods in particular I like to work on finding the BEST recipe for a particular item. I’ll try dozens of recipes until I hit upon the perfect frosting, the ideal textured cake or cookie, the exact replica of something I enjoyed at a restaurant or from my childhood. I’ve got a hand written recipe file that’s filled with best-of recipes and when I make them for friends I almost always get the comment “That the best….I’ve ever had.” I love that.

Wendi Zwaduk  Art. I got a degree in art and figure I’m pretty good at painting. I like charcoals, pastel (oil crayons), and acrylic paint for my media.

Sandra Bunino  Storytelling! I love to weave tales and bring characters to life.

Megan Slayer  Being a friend. If you need someone to listen to you, I’m your girl. Need a helping hand, I’m there. I’m loyal and most of the time that’s a good thing. Once in a while, it bites me in the buns. But I always give second chances.

Renea Mason   I’m good at knowing what other people are good at and helping to focus them on the right task.

Jessica Jayne  Arguing. I have been known to argue so well that even when I’m clearly wrong, I’ve been able to convince the others that they are wrong. That’s what three years of law school and growing up with father that was a lawyer will do to you.

Jessica E. Subject  Teaching my kids to read.

Adriana Kraft  I am the editor from hell. Hubs and I get that first don’t-look-down draft on the page smoothly without stopping to fine tune, and then I bring out the big guns and whip it into shape. Oops, mixed metaphor lol.

Avril Ashton  Eating cake. I’m a champ.

Maxine Mansfield  I am really really good at being a grandma. Just ask my grand kids and they will tell you. I spoil them rotten and then take them back home to their parents. It’s not just my right, but my duty. And, nothing proves true those long ago words of “Just wait until you are a parent.” like bringing back four kids hyped up on sugar and in possession of whatever annoying noisy new toy I can find.

Julia Talbot  Writing? And I have a knack for making people laugh

BA Tortuga  Telling stories and getting stuff done.

Denyse Bridger  I seem to have a talent for words, and empathy for people. So, I’d have to say communication. I listen to what people say, and often what they don’t say, vocally or the words on a page/screen. I trust my emotional response to people and it’s rarely wrong.

Dee Brice  Not anything in particular. I’m fairly good at a number of little things. I like variety and consider myself a sampler of all things wonderful. lol

Diana Hunter  I’m an excellent listener. Always have been. I like hearing what people have to say, the stories they have to tell, and can get them to open up and share them.

I think the first time I realized that was something I did well was when I was in junior high and, as a family, we went to the Farmer’s Museum in Cooperstown, NY. There was a woman weaving on a loom and I was fascinated. The others all left to go look at other things, but my dad stayed with me as I asked questions and listened to the woman weave stories as she wove with her shuttle.

Afterward, as we walked away, my dad said to me, “How do you do that?”

I was confused and didn’t know what he was talking about, so he rephrased his question and asked again, “How do you know what to say to get her to talk like that? To tell those stories?”

I didn’t have a clue what I did. It just came natural and I told him that. But from that day on, I watched myself as people would open up to me, listening to what I said as well as what they said. I discovered I don’t really need to think about it, the questions and comments come naturally.

I’m a good listener.

Lynne Connolly  Annoying people. sigh. Writing. Partying all night.

Charlotte Boyett-Compo  Writing tortured heroes. Most reviewers have commented that I do them really well. I’m also a great cook.

Sharita Lira  Listening. I’m a very good listener and not quick to judge

Cameron D. James  Helping my partner calm the f**k down. I’m the only one that can do that.

Christie Butler  Working things out. I love a good puzzle or mystery. I can spend hours working on something and never get bored.

Sabrina York  I am really good at writing. Even when I’m not writing fiction, friends ask me for help composing letters and resumes and reports. It’s funny, because I am dyslexic and by rights, shouldn’t be able to write at all. I do rely on spell check and beta readers to make sure my books make sense and none of the order are out of words.

Lucy Felthouse  Writing, I hope! Someone must think I’m okay at it, as I’ve had a few bits and pieces published…

Eden Bradley  I think I’m a good cook. My grandma taught me-I was hanging out in her kitchen as far back as I can remember. Nothing too fancy (although I did later learn some fancier dishes from my ex, who was a chef), but I’m a very good ‘plain’ cook.

I think I’m also a great fashion consultant. I worked retail fashion and as a buyer for many years, and was a stylist for rock bands in the late 80′s. I love to dress people up!

Cassandra Carr  Social media and marketing. I was a director of marketing before I left Corporate America and it comes naturally to me. I know there are people who are terrified of promotion. It paralyzes them just thinking about the sheer numbers of avenues open to us as authors. I’ve been on Twitter since 2007 and only opened my pen name account full-time (before that I was using a real-name one and a pen name one) and I’ve got 4,500 followers. I’m building a fanbase on Facebook, which I hadn’t paid as much attention to but am trying to focus on more. Then I dabble here and there – blogs, contests, things like that.

JB McDonald  In writing, I’m really good at crafting believable, complex characters with complex issues, while avoiding turning them all into hand-wringers. I LIKE characters who have problems and are working to fix them.

In the rest of my life, I’m good at dog training — it’s the job that pays the bills — and I’m getting to be good at trying new things. Life isn’t an adventure unless you try new things, after all!

Tracey H. Kitts  I think I’m really good at telling stories. I hope other people think so too. Ha. Ha.

R.G. Alexander  Hugging. I think I rock at hugging. I think I’m a good observer and listener. A professional people watcher. Also, I can carry a tune, can rhyme with Seussian skill at the drop of a hat and I am a fantastically gifted procrastinator.

Lainey Reese  I love to cook. I can cook just about anything with a recipe and I think I’m even better when I wing it. I love having friends and family over to cook for and unless everybody I know is fibbing to me, I’m pretty darn good.

MK Schiller  Well I like to think I’m a decent writer, but that’s hard to say since my book just came out. I think I’m good at reasoning with people and explaining things.

Leah Braemel  Embroidery — I used to do special pulled thread embroidery for a designer and my work would be displayed in her trunk shows.

Victoria Blisse  Writing, I like to think that anyway. Also I’m good at making people feel good. I love to make others happy and I manage to do that pretty often!

Jennifer Leeland  I think I’m good at rolling with the punches. I’m pretty good to have around when things are tough. In our family, we call it “Bob and weave, bob and weave”. LOL!

Kate Deveaux  Thinking on my feet. I’m solution oriented.

Ayla Ruse  Listening. If someone wants to vent, or unload, I’ll listen to them for hours one end, without complaint. I truly don’t mind. It’s only when I’m pinched for time that I might say, “can we get to this later.” Otherwise, I’m all ears.

Fiona McGier  I think I walk around with a sign on my forehead that says, “Tell me, I care.” Complete strangers will come up to me in stores and begin to share their entire life story with me. The joke between me and my husband is that if he was dropped in the middle of a crowd of strangers, he’d stand there quietly, waiting to be rescued. If I was dropped into the middle of a crowd of strangers, I’d start talking to the people closest to me, then work my way out to the edge to see where I am. Along the way I’d pass out and collect business cards and have a few lunch dates already made.

Sarah Castille  Evasive answers

Cathryn Cade  I like to think I write really good red hot romance.

I know I’m good at sketching with pencil and oil pastels. And I’m a darn good cook. Love to put together meals with fresh ingredients. And I am a world class consumer of chocolate! No one betta.

Then there are all those things I love to do at which I’m terrible. You do NOT want to hear me sing.

Luna Zega  Cooking. Recently, a friend was talking about how he wanted to try haggis. I told him to get me a sheep’s stomach and I’d whip up a batch for him. He asked me how I could be so sure I could make it. I told him that cooking was cooking. All it takes is a recipe and an imagination—because following a recipe is really boring.

Heather Long  Snark followed by sarcasm and biting wit.

Jean Hart Stewart  Making people happy, or at least more able to deal with their problems. I’m the earth mother type.

Desirée Lee   I think I’m a pretty decent editor. I’ve worked with some wonderful editors over the years who have taught me a lot. I look back at some of my earlier writing and nit-pick it apart now. I can definitely see how I’ve grown as a writer, thanks to them.

Nina Pierce  Trivia. I’m one of those geeky people who loves to know weird facts about nature and animals.

Bobbi Brattz  I’m really good at taking care of others. When my honey comes home from work I have a kiss, a hug, and a glass of wine waiting for him in that order. I believe in making a welcoming place for him to share with me after he works hard all day.

What I’m I really good at? Love.

Kay Dee Royal  This has nothing to do with sexy stuff…although I’m truly passionate about it – I’m good at connecting to characters when I’m editing…I can get inside their heads. It helps when I’m suggestion revisions because it feels like it comes directly from the story-stars;)

Tonya Renee Callihan  Organization!

Gale Stanley  You should probably ask my husband that one.

Naomi Bellina  I am really good at solving problems and making things work better. I’m a firm believer there is always a way to fix a situation and I can look at it from many different angles and come up with a plan. I think trying to make things more efficient is a Virgo trait. It sometimes gets me in trouble when I stick my nose where it’s not welcome.

Kemberlee Shortland  I don’t think, I know. I can talk a blue streak given the chance. Pick a topic and I’ll talk about it all day It’s a family trait. Most people in my family were born with the gift of the gab. And none of us have ever kissed the Blarney Stone!

Hurri Cosmo  listening to others, being positive, loving life.

Lyncee Shillard  Cooking. I love to cook and bake. I’m not saying that Rachel Ray needs to worry but it’s something that everyone agrees that I do well.

Sherrie Henry  I would like to think I’m good at writing … my first few published works have been very well received. I know I’m good at martial arts; working on my 4th Dan in Hapkido. I also know I’m good at teaching, having just started my eleventh year as an adjunct professor.

Angelina Rain  Procrastinating. I can put things off to the point they disappear! If only that worked on problems.

Trina Lane  I consider myself a jack of all trades, master of none. So artistically I have spent countless hours honing my skills at photography, music, and story telling but I’m not super rich or famous as a result of any of those things. I find conversation difficult so I’m generally a pretty quiet person, especially in groups. Professionally I’ve worked hard and feel that I’m successful, but I know that there are thousands of others like me. I’m hoping that I learn how to be a really great mom. So far I think I’m doing okay-of course my son is only six months old.
