May 7 GINGER BAKER’S AIRFORCE 7

Originally formed late in 1969 after the demise of supergroup Blind Faith, Baker (formerly GBO & Cream) hit on the idea of reinventing the Big Band sound of his youth. After sell out debut shows in Birmingham and London’s Royal Albert Hall on 12 & 15th January 1970, many agreed in hindsight that Airforce 1 well and truly brought the African influence into the popular arena for the first time.

With a changing line up of star musicians, two albums, Airforce 1 and 2 were released in 1970, to critical acclaim that remains to this day. Now in 2015, after successfully touring with his Jazz Confusion, Ginger has decided wear his wings one more and travel in a new direction with blues, Africa, vocals, rhythm and harmony. Airforce 3, will feature previous material and add exciting new arrangements whilst showcasing new talent and collaborating with old friends.

May 20 LENNY CLARKE

Lenny Clarke spent several years as the regular host of the open-mike nights at North Shore Comedy Club and has since traveled the world as a stand-up. His gifted comedic abilities captured the attention of the legendary Rodney Dangerfield who gave Lenny his first big break on TV, casting him on the HBO special “Nothin’ Goes Right,” in 1988. He and Dangerfield also worked together years later on Rodney’s movie, “Meet Wally Sparks.”

After years of hard work, Lenny was “discovered” at the Montreal Comedy Festival. CBS gave him his own TV series, the eponymous “Lenny,” which ran for 18 episodes. His other TV work includes four-plus years on “The John Larroquette Show,” as Officer Adam Hampton, hosting “The Sunday Comics” and guest appearances on “Touched by an Angel” and “Love Boat: The Next Wave.” His feature films include “Me, Myself and Irene,” “Rounders,” “There’s Something About Mary,” “Two if by Sea,” “Southie,” “Massholes” and the forthcoming independent film “Bluff.”

September 10 MARTIN BARRE

For the past five years Martin has toured the world with his own band to play the “classic” music from the Jethro Tull catalogue, and also many new tracks written by Martin from his albums AWAY WITH WORDS and ORDER OF PLAY, plus his latest album, BACK TO STEEL.

For 43 years Martin Barre was the renowned guitarist of Jethro Tull, and his role in the band cannot be overestimated. Bruce Eder wrote on allmusic.com, “His playing has provided much of the energy that allows the band to soar on record and in concert.”

His unique sound and style contributed enormously to their success, which includes several chart topping albums, eleven gold and five platinum albums, a Grammy Award for CREST OF A KNAVE in 1988, and album sales exceeding 60 million units. Tull continues to be played worldwide, representing an important part of classic rock history.
