May 8 JON POUSETTE DART
The Pousette-Dart Band, led by Jon Pousette-Dart carved a place in the landscape of American music in the 1970’s. They were a mainstay of album radio, a favorite on the college circuit, and became one of the busiest touring groups in the US working with such acts as The Byrds, Bonnie Raitt, Little Feat, The Eagles, James Taylor, The J. Geils Band, Eddie Money, Manfred Mann, Jonathan Edwards, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Emmylou Harris, Gary Wright, Robert Palmer, Randy Newman, Journey, Billy Joel, NRBQ, and many more including the now famous Frampton Comes Alive tour, and the progressive Yes Fragile tour playing arenas from Coast to Coast.
May 9 GIRLS, GUNS, and GLORY
Make no bones about it, Girls Guns & Glory is here to rock you solid, croon you smoothly, and melt your sweet little heart with their unique blend of rockin’ country music. Inspired by the music of Hank Williams, Moon Mullican, Johnny Horton & Chuck Berry, GGG has set out on a path to traveled by some of music most beloved and gifted songwriters & performers.
Getting their inspiration from events and circumstances encountered while traveling a road called life, GGG has taken rock ‘n’ roll & country music and woven it into a tapestry all their own. Jangling acoustic guitars, searing lead guitar lines, classic thump & twang, paired with a vocal reminiscent of Buddy Holly & Chris Isaak.
Even if country music isn’t your thing, you’re gonna enjoy Girls Guns & Glory.
May 10 SETH GLIER and JASON SPOONER
A singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist who averages over 250 live performances annually, Seth Glier has gone from opening act to headlining his own shows and playing major festivals. On his fourth album for MPress Records, If I Could Change One Thing (April 2015), Glier embraces a genuine modern-pop direction, marking a bold departure from his previous, more acoustic recordings and the beginning of an exciting relationship with producer/songwriter Bill Lefler (Ingrid Michaelson, Joshua Radin, Dashboard Confessional).
Multi-award winning New England-based songwriter Jason Spooner discovered his father’s collection of eight-track tapes as a child and never looked back. After early exposure to songwriter legends like Neil Young, Paul Simon, Jim Croce and Van Morrison along with Motown heavies like Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and Gladys Knight, he was inspired to start making the rounds on coffee house stages in his teens. Before long, Jason jumped head-first into the Northeast’s burgeoning songwriter scene.
May 12 COREY GLOVER and DUG PINNICK
Even before forming the pioneering, Grammy winning, platinum selling rock band Living Colour, Corey’s incredible talent as a personality and as an artist was brought to the attention of director Oliver Stone. The famed movie maker decided to cast Corey in his Vietnam epic, Platoon. Corey has also appeared in the films The Keeper, Reunion 81, and Loose Women.
As a founding member of Living Colour, Corey helped prove that not only could black guys kick out the jams, but that they could be embraced by a vast expanse of fans. Living Colour earned numerous industry awards including back-to-back Grammys for Best Hard Rock Performance of 1989 (‘Cult of Personality’) and 1990 (Time’s Up) and emerged as one of the most influential rock acts of all time: regularly selling out arenas and selling millions of albums.
Dug Pinnick discovered rock & roll through such greats as Little Richard, Sly and the Family Stone, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, while he borrowed from gospel for his singing style. In the early ’80s, Pinnick formed a new band with fellow musicians, It would take several years of playing covers in bars throughout the Midwest then a move to Houston Texas before the new band would click musically and eventually settle on a name: King’s X.

June 12 TUPELO NIGHT OF COMEDY
Our July comedy night features Louis Ramey, Mike Prior, and David Lamb. Always a great night out and loads of fun, the Tupelo Comedy night is a really good excuse to get together with friends.
July 25 POPA CHUBBY
Called “a post-modern Muddy Waters” by New York Times, Popa Chubby plays tough and gritty music fitting of the New York streets he calls home. Popa Chubby expertly combines rootsy blues with more contemporary styles, such as rock and rap. With his razor sharp, aggressive guitar, vocals from the gut and top-notch skill as a songwriter, Popa Chubby takes blues to the cutting edge.
“People look at me and expect a certain thing, Popa Chubby reflects, and don’t realize there’s more behind the picture. They see a big, burly guy with tattoos, and they expect to get beat over the head. And you will get beat over the head, but you’ll also get rocked to sleep, and there’ll be poetry in there too.” – Popa Chubby (Listen)
October 24 GEORGE WINSTON
Inspired by R&B, jazz, blues and rock (especially the Doors), George began playing organ in 1967. In 1971 he switched to the acoustic piano after hearing recordings from the 1920s and the 1930s by the legendary stride pianists Thomas “Fats” Waller and the late Teddy Wilson. In addition to stride piano, he began working on his own style of melodic instrumental music on solo piano, putting together songs of his own and arranging other pieces. In 1972, he recorded his first solo piano album, BALLADS & BLUES -1972, for the late, great solo guitarist John Fahey’s Takoma label.
More like poems for piano than traditional, structured songs, the music of George Winston plays like a lyrical soundtrack to the natural world’s rhythms… He uses simple techniques that would hardly impress the most intellectual of music critics but can bring any listener with an artist’s heart to tears. Winston pulls you into his solitary dreamscape and doesn’t let you go… – Karen Karleski
