History:

The route 322 began on the 24th October 1992, and provided a Monday to Saturday (except evenings) service between Vauxhall and Crystal Palace via Wandsworth Road, Stockwell, Brixton, Herne Hill, West Norwood and Gipsy Hill. The route was operated by South London at Norwood Garage N. The Current PVR was Monday to Friday 12SR and Saturday 9SR. On the 9th October 1993 the 322 was extended from Vauxhall to The Elephant and Castle via Newington Butts and Kennington Lane. The route was converted to Dart operation. The current PVR was Monday to Friday 11DRL and Saturday 10DRL. On the 29th April 1995 a Sunday operation was introduced. The current PVR was Monday to Saturday 11DRL and Sunday 5DRL. On the 6th January 1996 the route was diverted in Brixton. By 1998 the route was operated by Arriva London South which was still at Norwood Garage and they took over most of South London’s bus routes.

On the 29th April 2000 Arriva London South lost the contract to Connex Bus and they operated the route from their Beddington Garage BC. The current PVR was Monday to Friday 12DA, Saturday 11DA and Sunday 8DA. On the 15th September 2003 the DA type was withdrawn and replaced by DP type. On the 26th February 2004 Connex Bus was taken over by Travel London which was part of a National Express group. On the 30th April 2005 Travel London lost the contract to London General from their Stockwell Garage and they bought some brand new LDP type buses. The were changes also in the routing of the 322, Clapham Common Old Town, Clapham High Street, Landor Road, Stockwell Road, Brixton, Herne Hill, West Norwood, Gipsy Hill and Crystal Palace Bus Station. The current PVR was Monday to Sunday 8LDP. The average journey time is between 30 and 55 minutes. The frequency Monday to Saturday is every 15 minutes, Sunday and evenings run every 20 minutes.
