Half Moon Theatre, The Magic of Books: Come along to Half Moon Theatres own literary festival. Authors will be reading and illustrators will be running drawing workshops. Great afternoon for the family – all ages,noon – 2pm. FREE
Clapham Pottery Family Day: Bring the kids and throw some clay – £10 per person, 1:30-3pm
Somerset House Free Family Workshop: great day to see the festive lights in Covent Garden and make some seasonal art to take home. From noon- 3pm make festive lanterns and glittery pom-poms for your home. Free, all ages
Lauderdale House, Rapunzel: join for a retelling of girl with long hair locked in a tower. Puppets and songs: 10am, tickets £4.50 adults and £3 kids- great price for live theatre and the chance to enjoy the iconic Lauderdale House, Hampstead. Ages 2-5
Gobaby App has a new Holiday Season of this fabulous app for tackling the London with a pushchair. Gobaby lists every Undergournd, Overground and DLR station with four easy to read icons indicating whether any station is step-free; has 10+ steps; requires escalators; or has lifts along with live service updates (read my full review of Gobaby App here). If that is not enough, the app includes over 1,000 changing rooms in various family dining establishments, libraries and shops. The holiday version also lists over 200 Boots pharmacies across London for the cold season. Go on, best £1.49 you will spend.

Gate Picturehouse, Kids Club: This week’s programme: The Muppet Christmas Carol. Tickets £1 with £4 membership, popcorn and juice £2.
Barbican Family Film Club: Family Christmas Party!! Watch some short films, take part in activities and there might even be a special visitor. Tickets are £2. Great price. 11am, all ages.
Electric Cinema, Kid’s Club: This week’s feature, Elf (hands-down, the most hilarious children’s film); 10:30am. Check out the newly refurbished Electric Cinema in Notting Hill with its plush, red velvet beds, sofas and armchairs. Looks like a great way for Dad to occupy the kids on a Saturday morning. Le Institute Francais, Catavina Family Concert. Come and enjoy the Camarilla Ensemble perform loads of family-friendly pieces. Tickets are £5 per adult, children free (but please try and bring one child with one adult).
London Design Museum, Drop-in and Design. Bring the kids along and make some festive, glittery fairies. All ages, 2-5pm, free with museum entry
Camden Arts Centre Make and Do: bring the kids up to Camden and pop in the fabulous Camden Arts Centre for a fabulous artist-led make and do session. 2-4pm free, all ages.

Chelsea Theatre, The Ballad of Rudy: A Christmas play about a Jazz reindeer – what could you be more seasonal than jazz? Live music, original songs and lots of imagination. Ages 3+, 10:30 and 1:30 every day but Mondays – tickets £8
