News | Topshop to expand in Germany

Topshop is planning to expand its presence in Germany from an online store with the opening of ‘shop-in-shops’ in the Karstadt department stores in KaDeWe Berlin and Oberpollinger Munich, and in the Karstadt flagships in Düsseldorf and Hamburg.

With a Topshop and Topman shop planned for each store, Karstadt said the launch would form a major part of its “Karstadt 2015” strategy and the new national campaign, “Feel London”, which focuses on international lifestyle labels. The launch of the ‘Feel London’ campaign coincides with the Topshop and Topman openings on 4 September.

A Topshop spokesperson said: “After trading for two years now within the German market with our online businesses we are excited to be partnering with KaDeWe and Karstadt to bring the virtual into reality with a specific edit from our vast ranges. Long term this will also provide us with further learning to ultimate bring Topshop and Topman finally to the German market both online and offline in its own right.”

Andrew R Jennings, Karstadt chief executive, added: “We are thrilled to be the very first to present Topshop Topman to our Karstadt customers in Germany. With its fast, international style and world class appeal the brand has been globally successful and is a strategic partner for our modern organization.”
