Southern-style barbecue varies from state to state, sometimes city-to-city, and Southern natives love a good debate on whose barbecue style or sauce reigns supreme.
This September, The Local Palate celebrates the diversity of this cuisine with Brew ‘n’ Cue Showdown, an exclusive event part of Colonial Williamsburg’s Taste Tradition weekend. Pitmasters and brewers from four states will compete against one another as they show off their best hog and hops skills. Then, Colonial Williamsburg chefs will create a dish incorporating the barbecue. Attendees vote on Best BBQ, Best Beer, and Best Dish.
So, pick your State, start building that barbecue pride, and get excited with this sneak peak of North Carolina’s participating pitmaster, brewery, and Colonial Williamsburg chef.
