Around Christmas time I was walking through Target with my Starbucks & I spotted this lovely red metal side table that I fell in love with. It was so cheery & if I was a cool person who switched my side tables out for the seasons or if I had one ounce of red in my home decor, I would have bought it. But since neither was true I went on my merry way. Fast forward a few weeks later after Christmas & I’m walking through Target again with my starbucks in hand & that same red table is staring me in the eye & this time it has a magical red clearance sticker on it. Are you kidding? How can I pass up this beautiful table for just $20. As much as I loved the red, I knew it was going to get a little makeover. It just had to happen to fit in our casa. I knew exactly where this little table was going to go too, our corner in our living room with the lovely corner gallery wall…

So there is the little table all finished! I’m loving it in this little reading corner. O, & there is a sneak peek at our new slipcovers. No more white! More on that later. For those of you wondering, the lamp is from Lowes & it’s my new favorite thing too!

So, there is the whole process. Seriously this makeover was so easy! I give most of the credit to my favorite bronze spray paint. I have a crush on the rust-oluem metallic spray paint in oil rubbed bronze. In my opinion it’s the best bronze spray paint for any DIY project & that’s proven to me by how many empty cans of this I have in my garage.  After using 3M scotch blue tape & a plastic bag to cover the wood top, I sprayed a layer on the outside. After the first layer dried I put another layer on & flipped the table over and repeated the same thing for the inside. I love how easy this stuff goes on & how quickly it covers what you need painted. The finish of the spray paint is matte with slight metallic shimmer, which is usually what I am looking for in a bronze spray paint. One other BIG thing for us impatient people, it dries very quickly! That’s a must. I realized how much I grabbed for this color in all of my DIY projects {I have two more projects that I worked on this weekend that I used this spray paint for too} So of course I had to share this gem with you. Have you used this spray paint before? What are your thoughts? Here is our little corner of the living room before the table & after…

I think it adds a little something something to this little space & it’s so handy! We typically use this spot for blogging/reading/homework, so to have a spot to set things is very handy. O, & I also realized there was a HUGE update to our coffee table that I haven’t shared yet… Can’t wait to show you!

What do you think of our little side table makeover? I’m so glad I didn’t pass this little guy up at Target! Have you made over a table from Target or any other store before? What’s your biggest clearance Target find you got lately? I would LOVE to hear from you! Leave a comment below, chat with me on Facebook, or find me on Instagram! xx
