The ASA (Amateur Swimming Association) is supporting County Sports Partnership Network’s Workplace ‘Shake Up September’ Challenge taking place from the 1-30 September.

We want you to get involved using the Workplace Challenge phone app and webpage to log your swims to help keep you excited and motivated to continue swimming.

If you have logged at least 30 minutes of swimming for each week of the challenge then you may be drawn at random to win some great prizes.

There are 10 Speedo goody bags and tickets to the ASA National Age Group Water Polo Championships at the Manchester Aquatics Centre, or the ASA National Winter Meet (Short Course) at Ponds Forge in Sheffield, so get logging your swimming activity during the challenge to be in with a chance of winning!

If the idea of swimming lengths doesn’t inspire you, you can always sign up to an ASA Swimfit programme at your leisure centre to get gym style workouts for the pool, which provide a challenge for swimmers of all abilities.

You could also look at getting involved in another aquatic discipline. There are many clubs who offer taster session in diving, water polo, synchronised swimming and open water swimming. There are also classes like Aqua Aerobics, Aqua Jogging or a high-energy Aqua Zumba class.

If you are already logging your swims and would like to get your workplace more involved in swimming, why not ask your employer to look at signing up for the Active Workplace programme.

The ASA’s Active Workplace scheme is designed to boost the health and well-being of workforces across the UK, and help their employees fit regular amounts of exercise into their hectic working lifestyles.
