Storytime Art: Pets- 10:45 am. Storytime Art, or StArt! is a great opportunity for your young child to experience art! And, of course, anyone older is welcome, as well! Storytimes always include at least one book and a related art project, but often include surprises like songs, poems, and coloring pages. Round Rock Chalk Walk Arts Festival – 5-10 p.m. with Asleep at the Wheel performance at 8 p.m., Enjoy vendors and artists, including chalk artists, musicians vocal groups, theatrical performances, food and drinks, and children’s performances. FREE!  Chalk Walk is the Round Rock Art’s version of an Italian Street painting festival.  Artists are free to create, with chalk pastels, a picture on the concrete.  Drawings are created in full view of the public, who are encouraged to interact with the artists as they use their amazing talents to create beautiful “murals” before their audience’s eyes.  Centennial Plaza area and Brown Street, Round Rock.

Bug Night Out – 6-9 p.m., Enjoy a rare opportunity to see the Wildflower Center at night and explore the many insects in our gardens! Come early and enjoy a bug-themed dinner in our Café and then stay for one of our guided flashlight tours. You can also explore the gardens on your own, but don’t forget to bring your own flashlight (the Store will be closed). Mueller Movies in the Park: Spy Kids -  6:30 p.m., Popcorn will be served beginning at 6:30 with the movie beginning at dusk. The Home Depot Kids Workshop: Fire Truck – 9 a.m. – noon. Head to a Home Depot near you to build a Fire Truck! This FREE hands-on workshop is designed for children ages 5 – 12. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin, while supplies last. The Pumpkin Hunt – 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Children of all ages can enjoy fall activities, ongoing throughout the day, allowing families to customize their experience at the farm. Pumpkins of all sizes will be available for purchase. The premier event, the Pumpkin Hunt ($2.50), includes a wagon ride into the Christmas tree fields where mini pumpkins are hidden in the trees. After the Hunt, enjoy pumpkin decorating on the pavilion along with the other activities and games. Pinata Making Workshop – 1-4 p.m., Mexic-Arte Museum is proud to host local piñata artisans Monica and Sergio Lejarazu for a total of 5 Sugar Skull Float Workshops for the general public. Using papier-mâché, Monica Lejarazu and Museum educators will guide the public in the creation of sugar skull piñatas, inspired by the tradition of Calaveras (“skulls”) in Dia de los Muertos, which have been used in Mexico since the 17th Century. During the workshops, Lejarazu will build a grand sugar skull float to be featured in the Viva la Vida parade. All artwork can be used alongside the sculpture in the Viva la Vida parade, as exhibited in the Piñata Graveyard on festival grounds. Participation is FREE and open to the public with materials provided. Mexic-Arte Museum, 419 Congress Avenue.
