Storytime Art – Family - 10:45 a.m., Storytime Art, or StArt! is a great opportunity for your young child to experience art! Storytimes are geared to the 3 – 5 year old preschooler, but some projects could easily translate into a Mommy and Me project for those a little younger. And, of course, anyone older is welcome, as well! Storytimes always include at least one book and a related art project, but often include surprises like songs, poems, and coloring pages. 14th East Austin Studio Tour – 11 a.m. – 6 p.m., EAST is a FREE, annual, self-guided art event occurring over two weekends, providing the public with an opportunity to meet the makers: the local artists and artisans who leave a lasting imprint on Austin’s vibrant, dynamic culture. Tour-goers are invited to discover new artistic talent, see working studios, learn about artists’ tools, techniques, and inspirations, and explore unique exhibition spaces and local businesses. EAST is divided into four participant categories: Artist Studios, Exhibitions, Happenings, and Select Events. Artist Studios and Exhibitions are free to the public and open on the weekends of November 14-15 & 21-22 from 11am – 6pm. Happenings are also free, occurring on the weekends of the tour with varying hours. Select Events happen on both of the tour weekends, as well as during the weekdays/nights in between and may cost money to attend. Exhibitions take place in spaces that are either dedicated to exhibiting art year-round or temporarily showcasing work for EAST.  Catalog and maps are available at all Austin Public Library branches starting on Monday, November 9th.

Always the Sunday before Thanksgiving, this annual family-friendly event invites you to select your favorite from thousands of locally crafted ceramic bowls, have it filled with gourmet soup and bread and listen to live music while enjoying your lunch. Your $20 donation goes to Kids Cafe, a program of the Capital Area Food Bank, and Meals for Kids, a program of Meals on Wheels & More.
