Joining us for this special Nature Nights will be Austin Fire Department-Wildfire Division, Austin Water Utility, Balcones US Fish and Wildlife Service, the Nature Conservancy of Texas, Texas Forest Service, Texas Parks and Wildlife, and University of Texas at Austin Fire Prevention Services. They will bring some of their equipment for all to see. We will also have fire extinguisher training, a fire safety house and radio practice. There will be habitat hikes that discuss prescribed burns, and how we use them at the Wildflower Center to heal the land and promote healthy landscapes. The production is the story of a young girl named Sarah who is tired of no one listening to her. But when her pre-school teacher tells her that she can “become anything she puts her mind to”, Sarah decides that the best way to get attention is to become a dinosaur and ROAR! Sarah soon learns that all attention is not positive when stomping and roaring turns the heads of everyone she encounters. Ultimately, Sarah finds her voice and the adults in her world learn to think twice before speaking. Austin Symphony Hartman Foundation “Concerts in the Park” – 7:30 p.m. Each Sunday, a different ensemble of the Austin Symphony will be featured at the Hartman Park, located on the grounds of the Long Center, performing music from jazz and light classical to pops selections and film scores.
